Patent number: 11141747Abstract: A nozzle arrangement for a spray gun, in particular a paint spray gun, has at least one paint nozzle and an air cap. The paint nozzle has at least one outlet opening for the material to be sprayed and the air cap has at least one central opening which is bounded by at least one wall. The at least one wall forms a gap with at least one part of the paint nozzle, and a forward part of the paint nozzle has at least an inner face, an outer face and an end face. The end face of the paint nozzle encloses, at least in certain regions, an angle of greater than 90° or an angle of less than 90° with an outer face or an inner face of the paint nozzle. In the nozzle arrangements, the back-pressure counter to the outflow of the material to be sprayed is lower than in prior art nozzles. A spray gun, in particular a paint spray gun, having such a nozzle arrangement is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2016Date of Patent: October 12, 2021Assignee: SATA GMBH & CO. Patent number: 9878340Abstract: A color application system and method provide improved results of the color application and the operation of the color application system, for example color application errors due to varying pressure are reduced or eliminated, by using a color application system having one or more receivers for wireless data transfer between components of the color application system, wherein one of the components is a color sprayer having a detecting unit for detecting operating parameters of the color sprayer and/or environmental parameters, and a transmitter for wirelessly transferring the operating parameters and/or environmental parameters to the receiver. In a method for operating such a color application system, the operating parameters of spray air pressure and/or optionally the pressure of the medium to be sprayed is detected in or at the color sprayer, and then the detected pressure or pressures are wirelessly transferred to one or more components of the color application system.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2011Date of Patent: January 30, 2018Assignee: SATA GMBH & CO. Patent number: 8899501Abstract: A spray paint gun having a disposable cartridge inserted therein such that paint can flow through the cartridge in the spray gun without touching the spray gun. Since no part of the spray gun has paint touching it, there is no cleaning of the spray gun or its components. The cartridges can be easily inserted into the spray gun and easily removed such that different color paints can be used in the spray gun in quick succession without down time for cleaning. There is no use of solvents for cleaning, making the cartridge spray gun environmentally friendly. The disposable cartridges eliminate expensive time consuming cleaning. The cartridges can be breach loaded into the front portion of a spray gun and front portion containing the cartridge can quickly snapped into place and ready for use by a hinged connection to the rear portion or by other connection means.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2011Date of Patent: December 2, 2014Assignee: SATA GmbH & Co. Patent number: 8757182Abstract: The invention relates to a cleaning device for cleaning spray guns, particularly paint spray guns, having at least one cleaning nozzle connected to a transport device for cleaning fluid, and having a frictional cleaning device for manually cleaning the spray guns or parts thereof. Known cleaning devices of such a type can only insufficiently clean the paint spray channel. The object of providing a cleaning device by means of which parts of both the outer surface and the paint spray channel can be efficiently and environmentally soundly cleaned is achieved in that the cleaning nozzle is disposed near and above the frictional cleaning device, so that cleaning fluid can be sprayed through the cleaning nozzle into and/or on the spray gun, and the spray gun, and particularly the spray gun nozzle, can be simultaneously manually cleaned by friction using the frictional cleaning device.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2008Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Assignee: Sata GmbH & Co.
