Patent number: 8526056Abstract: A method for printing with curable ink is presented. The method comprises the steps of: generating an image wise pattern of spaced apart ink droplet locations for representing the image; and separating the pattern into at least first and second different interleaved portions, each portion comprising a plurality of droplet locations and the droplet locations of each interleaved portion being spaced apart from each other and spaced apart from the droplet locations of the remaining interleaved portions. In a first printing pass, ink droplets are deposited on the substrate at the drop locations of the first interleaved portion. Then, in a final printing pass, ink droplets are deposited on the substrate at the droplet locations of the second interleaved portion. The deposited ink droplets are then cured by exposing the deposited ink droplets to curing radiation in a first partial curing step between first and final printing passes and in a final curing step.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2007Date of Patent: September 3, 2013Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Eyal Gargir, Ran Vilk, Anton Andrusier

Patent number: 7513589Abstract: A multi-pass printing system and a corresponding method are provided for printing an image, which includes a plurality of continuous-tone values, based on halftone matrices having threshold values. The printed image is composed of sub-images, each of which includes dots printed in a respective pass. The sub-images present independent dot patterns at corresponding places. The printing system is arranged to obtain the sub-images by splitting the continuous-tone values into at least two pass values, an individual pass value indicating an intensity to be printed in a respective pass. Then, in one pass a first halftone matrix for printing the respective pass values, and in another pass one or more second halftone matrices are used, which are obtained by positionally shifting the threshold values of the first halftone matrix, for printing all pass values of the other pass, or at least those pass values above a highlight threshold.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2007Date of Patent: April 7, 2009Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Dror Eldar, Eyal Gargir, Ronny Tuttnauer

Patent number: 6508531Abstract: A method for reducing undesired variations of print density in a printed output is implemented by selectively increasing the number of drops of ink deposited in rows traveled by nozzles corresponding to a reduced-output region of the print head compared to the pattern of drops which would be deposited if all nozzles were operating normally.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2002Date of Patent: January 21, 2003Assignee: Aprion Digital Ltd.Inventor: Eyal Gargir

Patent number: 6497471Abstract: A service station system for cleaning printheads, particularly inkjet printheads is provided. The service station includes a body having a seal attached thereto and at least one pressure operated sprayer attached to the body within an area demarcated by the seal. Each sprayer includes a bent cap, which enables spraying a cleaning agent at a predetermined spray angle. The sprayers are positioned so that substantially all of the nozzle plate will be wetted by the cleaning agent when the seal, the body and the nozzle plate are positioned to form an enclosed volume. The service station also includes a pressure release valve to keep the pressure within the enclosed volume at atmospheric level during spraying.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2000Date of Patent: December 24, 2002Assignee: Aprion Digital Ltd.Inventor: Eyal Gargir

Patent number: 6338629Abstract: An electrical connecting device for electrically connecting a multitude of electrical contacts, which are placed on first and second electronic component carrying boards. The device includes an isolating board having a plurality of apertures formed therein, electrically conductive elements placed within each of the plurality of apertures and extending therethrough on either side of the isolating board. Each of the electrically conductive elements separated and isolated one from the other. The electrically conductive elements are brought into contact with respective electrical contacts on the first and second boards.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1999Date of Patent: January 15, 2002Assignee: Aprion Digital Ltd.Inventors: Gil Fisher, Eyal Gargir, Roni Mor, Oded Savarov
