Abstract: Methods and systems for separating presentation and business models for common management platform tasks in a storage area network (SAN) are disclosed. A graphical user interface (GUI) object may be mapped to a task object, which include action(s) performed on a SAN. A selection of task objects from a collection of task objects is received, which are needed to implement the underlying functionality of a GUI object. The collection of task objects is part of a task framework. An arrangement of the task objects according to a hierarchy of the framework is received. The hierarchy includes simple task objects, corresponding to actions performed on a SAN, and composite task objects, corresponding to at least two simple task objects and may include other composite task objects. The arranged task objects are mapped to the GUI object by extending a presentation object to encapsulate the GUI object and the arranged task objects.

Abstract: A SAN activity scheduler provides an integrated view of various types of scheduled activities, provides a summary report of multiple scheduled activities, and provides a seamless interface to drill down into specific details of scheduled activities. The scheduler provides a layout view of the scheduled activities arranged according to activity type (tasks, data collection, or retention) or status (success or failure), a detailed layout of activities scheduled within a particular day or other time interval, and a drill down detail which provides activity specific reports such as logs and collection details about the scheduled activities. In this manner, the scheduler provides the SAN operator with an integrated, all-inclusive interface for directing scheduled activities, presents a unified cohesive interface for quickly assessing the current state of scheduled activities, and drilling down into details on an activity specific basis without leaving the integrated scheduler application.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and advertising management system configured to provide a plurality of advertisements over a data network and embed said plurality of advertisements into documents to be printed or copied by means of a plurality of users, said system comprising: (a) an application management server configured to enable an advertiser to set up an advertising campaign by enabling said advertiser to define one or more advertisements along with defining at least one advertising criterion, giving rise to one or more predefined rules; and (b) an advertisement management server configured to enable embedding at least one of said one or more advertisements into a document to be printed or copied, according to said one or more predefined rules.
