  • Publication number: 20240119515
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses to match content providers and interested content users are described. Input indicating an accessing of a network location by a user is received along with the user's identifier. The identifier is obfuscated and transmitted to a content provider configured to provide content to the user at the network location. A re-direct identifier is transmitted to the user instructing the user to directly contact the content provider. When the user contacts the content provider, the user transmits a provider-specific identifier by which the content provider identifies the user and the obfuscated user identifier. The content provider updates a database of obfuscated user identifiers and provider-specific user identifiers based on the received identifiers. Thus, the content provider is enabled to identify interested users based on obfuscated and provider-specific user identifiers.

  • Publication number: 20230362427
Abstract: A request from a user to view a video content item may be received, the requesting user being associated with at least one of a set of preferences or a context. group of similar users may be identified based the set of preferences or the context. A number of candidate video items corresponding to the video content item may be identified. A watch time difference may be determined for each candidate video item of the number of candidate video items. A subset may be determined based on the watch time difference associated with each candidate video items. The candidate video items in the subset may be ranked based on an activity rate associated with the corresponding candidate video item. A candidate video item with the highest ranking may be provided to the user.

  • Patent number: 11716496
Abstract: A request from a user to view a video content item may be received, the requesting user being associated with a set of preferences and a context. A group of similar users may be identified based the set of preferences or the context. A number of promotional video items corresponding to the video content item may be identified. A first subset of the number of promotional video items may be determined based on the set of preferences or the context of the user. A watch time difference may be determined for each promotional video item in the first subset. A second subset may be determined based on the watch time difference associated with each promotional video items. An activity rate associated with the promotional video items in the second subset is determined. A promotional video item of the second subset that satisfies a criterion is provided to the user.

  • Patent number: 11218760
Abstract: A request from a user to view a video content item may be received, the requesting user being associated with a set of preferences and a context. A group of similar users may be identified based at least one of: one or more preferences in the set of preferences or the context. A first promotional video item corresponding to the video content item may be identified. A first watch time value for a first portion of the group of similar users may be determined based on an amount of time during a period of time that users of the first portion of the group have viewed the video content item after being provided the first promotional video item. A second watch time value for a second portion of the group of similar users may be determined based on an amount of time during the period of time that the users of the second portion of the group have viewed the video content item, the first promotional video item not provided to the users of the second portion of the group.

  • Patent number: 10817883
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes generating an emulated view of an advertisement; determining, based on the emulated view, one or more elements associated with the advertisement; comparing the one or more elements to one or more criteria associated with an advertisement marketplace; and determining, based on comparing, whether the advertisement complies with the one or more criteria.

  • Patent number: 10721513
Abstract: A promotional message may be provided to a first portion of a group of users. A first watch time may be identified based on an amount of time during a period of time that users of the first portion view the video content items after being provided the promotional message. A second watch time may be identified based on an amount of time during the period of time that users of a second portion of the group view video content items where the promotional message is not provided to the users of the second portion of the group. A difference between the first watch time and the second watch time may be calculated. A determination of whether to provide the promotional message to a subsequent user sharing one or more characteristics with the group of users may be based on the difference between the first watch time and the second watch time may be made.

  • Publication number: 20140229252
Abstract: This specification describes technologies relating to selection and delivery of online content. One aspect of the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in methods that include determining a share fraction based on a received reserve price and based in part on a distribution of past bids for content inventory units in one or more content slots provided by a publisher. The methods may further include determining a second reserve price based in part on the received reserve price and based in part on a distribution of past bids for content inventory units in one or more content slots provided by the publisher. The methods may further include receiving one or more bids for the content inventory unit and allocating the content inventory unit to a buyer based in part on the one or more bids and the second reserve price.

  • Patent number: 8543715
Abstract: The capability to limit the number of user redirects for a third-party content provider or third-party content provider network, such as, for example, an advertiser or advertising network, is provided. Such a capability extends the functionality of an attribute of a HyperText Markup Language (HTML) element to establish a limit to the number of user redirects. Accordingly, such a limit can be used to enforce restrictions on the number of user redirects through a user's web browser.

  • Publication number: 20030236918
Abstract: The present invention includes a network layer module which may communicate with a computing device's network layer and intercept packets produced by one or more source applications running on the computing device. A protocol unwrapping unit may unwrap the intercepted packets, and a prioritization module may assign a priority value to each unwrapped packet based on the packet's source application. A synchronized data packing module may insert into an encapsulated packet at least a portion of an unwrapped packet, wherein the inserted portion of an unwrapped packet's size relative to the encapsulated packet's size is correlated to the inserted packet's relative priority value.

  • Publication number: 20030208603
Abstract: There is presented a system and method for initiating communication between a computing device with a client application accessing data from a server and a representative workstation associated with the server. According to the present invention, an activity detector may monitor inputs to the computing device and a behavior filter may determine whether the detected activity qualifies for the establishment of communication between the computing device and the representative workstation. A communication module may initiate a communications application, mode or link between the computing device and the representative workstation upon receiving a signal or indicator from the behavior filter.
