  • Patent number: 11934332
Abstract: Devices, methods, and systems are provided. In one example, a device is described to include a device interface that receives data from at least one data source; a data shuffle unit that collects the data received from the at least one data source, receives a descriptor that describes a data shuffle operation to perform on the data received from the at least one data source, performs the data shuffle operation on the collected data to produce shuffled data, and provides the shuffled data to at least one data target.

  • Patent number: 9386393
Abstract: A system for automatically activating a function of a mobile device with a remote device is described. The system includes a first device having an illumination component for generating illumination having a signature. A second mobile device includes a display and a light sensor. A function of the second mobile device is activated in response to the light sensor receiving the illumination having the signature.

  • Patent number: 9194702
Abstract: A mobile device is described. The mobile device includes an electronic compass that generates compass data corresponding to an orientation of the mobile device relative to true north. A global positioning system (GPS) module receives a GPS signal from multiple satellites. The GPS module determines a heading direction of a vehicle transporting the mobile device relative to true north based on the position data when the vehicle is moving above a threshold velocity. A motion sensor generates motion data corresponding to a motion of the mobile device when the mobile device is moved. A processor adjusts the heading direction of the vehicle relative to true north based on the compass data when the vehicle is moving below the threshold velocity.

  • Patent number: 7650522
Abstract: A mobile computing device that dynamically and automatically manages all network adapters on the device to obtain the best and most effective balance of network connectivity and power consumption without requiring operator or user application intervention. Performance is increased by lowering power consumption (longer battery life) and decreasing transaction latencies, providing a device that has flexibility and ease of use. According to one aspect is a system that includes a data analysis component that monitors parameters associated with a device and a mobility policy manager component that provides balance of network connectivity and power consumption based at least in part upon the monitored stimuli.

  • Publication number: 20090082011
Abstract: A mobile device comprises a processor and a transceiver. The processor selects from a plurality of connection types for a user plane assisted global position system (AGPS) data transfer. Each connection type includes a priority level where a first selected connection type is based on the priority levels of the connection types. The transceiver establishes a connection to a wireless network using the selection connection type.
