    Abstract: Various embodiments of a method and apparatus for lighting a region of interest are disclosed. The region of interest is an image capture region, which is a region that the camera captures in an image. Strips of light are placed in a trough. The trough has four sections that are joined together to form a rectangle that is mounted on a camera, surrounding the camera, placing the strips of light surrounding the camera and therefore surrounding the lens. In some embodiments, the strips of light are mounted to point 44 degrees outward from the direction that the camera points. In some embodiments, each portion of the trough has two parallel strips of lights.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses an apparatus and a method for forming a protective layer around computer memory that allows access to specified external locations and applications only. A routine seeking access to the computer memory must be cleared for access by at least two different permission checking algorithms that work in conjunction to a database to determine whether access should be allowed. The invention protects the hard drive from unauthorized reading and writing by verifying permission definitions from a hard drive database and monitors startup files for changes from previous versions to prevent unauthorized control of the computer recourses at the outset of its operation upon power up. Additionally, the present invention will protect from unauthorized TCP/IP connections by verifying permissions from a TCP/IP permissions database.

In place of the conventional isolation transformer in the output stage, the input stage utilizes a single integrated transformer inductor magnetic component, thereby eliminating the usual output stage isolation transformer. The input stage is operated in a critical conduction mode which further improves the electronic ballast.

    Abstract: An electronic high frequency supply, such as a lamp ballast, having a full-wave rectifier, a storage capacitor charged to a voltage greater than the peak of the rectifier output, and an isolating diode between the rectifier and the storage capacitor. An inverter is connected to the storage capacitor, and has a high frequency inductive load circuit connected between the inverter output and a junction between the isolating diode and the bridge rectifier. A capacitor, connected to the junction in parallel with a series circuit formed by the isolating diode and storage capacitor, forms a high frequency resonance circuit with the inductive load circuit. Current is drawn from the rectifier only as a series of pulses at the inverter frequency. To minimize variation in the high frequency load current, the inverter frequency is varied linearly with but oppositely to the instantaneous value of the rectifier output voltage.
