Abstract: A nonwoven wipe has multiplicity of fibers, bonded portions, and unbonded portions. The bonded portions are spaced apart from one another, each bonded portion comprises portions of the fibers that are bonded together, and each bonded portion has a thickness extending perpendicularly between opposite faces of the nonwoven wipe. Each unbonded portion comprises portions of the fibers that are not bonded together, and each unbonded portion has a thickness extending perpendicularly between the opposite faces of the nonwoven wipe. The thicknesses of the unbonded portions is greater than the thicknesses of the bonded portions. The bonded portions are sized and arranged for providing a desirable balance of properties.

  • Publication number: 20130247338
Abstract: This invention provides a single or multi-ganged clip that can be grouped into a festooned arrangement. Each clip includes a base with opposing ends aligned in the direction of extension and transverse to an elongation direction for a connecting segment between ganged clip members. The base ends include opposing male and female connectors. The male connector is a cylinder with an axis that extends transverse to the direction of elongation and the female connector defines a conforming cylindrical inner diameter, which allows it to nest over the male cylinder. A gap opening at the far edge of the female connector provides clearance for the base that connects the male cylinder to the clip member base end. This gap is sized to allow a range of angular rotation of the male connector within the female connector. Clips can be dispensed in a continuous grouping/segment from a spool.

  • Patent number: 8465063
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and methods for installing and using a gate latch apparatus to protect and enclose livestock. The latching device may or may not be permanently installed, and it can be installed on gates in both a horizontal and vertical fashion. The gate latch apparatus can be opened with one hand of a person. The apparatus includes a pair of latch plates with two chain-grasping slots. The ability to double latch the gate is possible by sliding the chain into both the first and second slots of an L-shaped slot and wrapping the chain across the fitted member and then slipping the chain into a U-shaped slot. The gate latch of this invention can also be used to attach two gates together and to attach free standing fence panels together.

  • Patent number: 8314380
Abstract: A patient bed drive mechanism, under control of a processor, is capable of continuously moving a patient bed through the a TOF-PET detector array having a stationary field of view (FOV) for a distance in excess of the physical extent of an axis of the array FOV. A direct memory access (DMA) rebinner card is coupled to the detector array to receive therefrom a stream of TOF-PET coincidence event data during the extent of movement of the bed. Image projection data are generated in real time from the acquired stream of TOF-PET coincidence event data via the DMA card.

  • Publication number: 20120189572
Abstract: The invention provides therapeutics and methods to induce a mammalian host, including a human, to produce antibodies, which agonize death receptors and cause the apoptotic death of target cells within the host's body. The therapeutics are vaccine compositions, including genetic vaccines encoding death receptor antigens of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family. Also provided are means and methods for overcoming host immunological tolerance to death receptors. The vaccines are useful against cancer cells and other death receptor bearing target cells within the host, and can be used in both therapeutic and prophylactic settings. The vaccines are also useful for diagnostic testing of the immunocompetence of a host.

  • Publication number: 20120110797
Abstract: This invention provides a single or multi-ganged clip that can be grouped into a festooned arrangement. Clips are grouped into a discrete assembly along a line of extension so that a handler can retrieve a grouping, separate one-clip-at-a-time, and apply the separated clip to an assembly structure. Each clip can include a base with opposing ends aligned in the direction of extension and transverse to an elongation direction for a connecting segment (if any) between ganged clip members. In one embodiment, these ends include opposing male and female connectors. The male connector is a cylinder with an axis extending transverse to the direction of elongation and the female connector defines a conforming cylindrical inner diameter, which allows it to nest over the male cylinder. An opening at the far edge of the female connector provides clearance for the base that connects the male cylinder to the clip member base end.

  • Patent number: 8118696
Abstract: A virtual shuffleboard table gaming apparatus including a housing having a playing field, a game acquisition circuit, and a display. As a puck is propelled towards a puck return at the distal end of the playing field, the puck temporarily obstructs at least two beams from transmitters. Sensors that receive the transmitted beams provide information to the game acquisition circuit indicative of the time when the beams were blocked and unblocked. The duration of time the beams are block are used by a game controller to calculate the angle of travel, location, and velocity of the puck. This information is then used by the game controller to determine the travel path and resting place of a virtual puck on a virtual playing field, as well as determine whether the virtual puck rests in a scoring zone and maintain a game score.
