  • Patent number: 4315747
Abstract: An equal-area homolinear composite world map having parallels of latitude parallel to the equator. The map combines an equatorial map section and polar map sections. The equatorial map section is the equatorial portion of a fusiform equal-area world map and the polar sections are the polar portions of a flat-polar equal-area world map. The fusiform and flat-polar maps are prepared according to mapping equations which are the same except that the latter are adjusted to provide flat poles.
