The stable topical composition may be present in various forms, including aqueous gel, cream, and emulsion. The stable topical composition may be stored at refrigerated or ambient condition for a reasonable shelf-life. The present application also provides a method of treating dermatologic disorders mediated by a melanocortin receptor using the stable topical composition. The stable composition may be delivered using a single chamber or dual chamber device. A method of preparing and delivering the stable composition is also provided.
