  • Publication number: 20230050109
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method for controlling an ultrasound generator of a machine tool for generating ultrasound for machining a workpiece. According to the invention, a determined phase shift of the ultrasound is analyzed as a function of frequency and, based on the analysis, a regulation algorithm for controlling the frequency of the ultrasound generated by the ultrasound generator is determined.

  • Publication number: 20220250116
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for controlling an ultrasound tool unit for machining a workpiece on a machine tool. For this, a plurality of parameter sets are stored on a storage device of a control device of the machine tool. When controlling an ultrasound transducer of the ultrasound tool unit received on a work spindle of the machine tool on the basis of a sensor signal input into a controller by means of a generator operated by the controller, on the basis of a first parameter set, which is associated with the ultrasound tool unit and sets the operation of the controller, an operating setting of the controller is switched by changing the first parameter set setting the operation of the controller on the basis of a second parameter set, which is associated with the ultrasound tool unit, of the plurality of parameter sets stored on the storage device.

  • Patent number: 10821568
Abstract: A method for determining a vibration amplitude of a tool, includes the steps of: generating a light beam of a light barrier with a transmitter for generating the light beam and a receiver for detecting a light intensity of the light beam; generating a receiver signal on the basis of a light intensity of the light beam that is detected by the receiver of the light barrier; positioning a tool tip of the tool in the light beam; causing the tool to vibrate; determining the vibration amplitude of the tool from a modulation of the receiver signal brought about by the vibration of the tool.
