  • Patent number: 10339836
Abstract: A demonstrator (1) of qualities of a spectacle lens material, includes a hollow base (10) which is open through an observation window (13), and a lens (20) which closes the observation window and includes at least one part (21) made of the spectacle lens material. The demonstrator includes at least two separate demonstration elements selected from the following list: an electrostatic element (50) that can move under the action of an electrostatic attraction; an ultraviolet mark (43) which allows the ultraviolet light to be viewed with the naked eye; and an abrasive element (30) suitable for scratching the demonstrator lens (20).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 7, 2014
Date of Patent: July 2, 2019
    Assignee: ESSILOR INTERNATIONAL

  • Patent number: 8960897
Abstract: A device is provided for demonstrating and testing the effectiveness of an anti-reflection treatment of an ophthalmic lens. An image (2) is backlit by a light source (7) with a second face (1B) forming an angle of at least 90° relative to the first face and is placed facing a third face (1C) for positioning at least one ophthalmic lens (4A) with its concave face facing outwards. The device includes text (5) on a transparent medium behind the mirror and a face of uniform color (6) behind the text, such that when a user looks through the orifice (4) and the lens (4A), the user can see the reflection of the image (2) on the lens (4A) by means of the mirror (3), the image being superposed on the text (5) and on the face (6) of uniform color.

  • Patent number: 8678834
Abstract: A device for demonstrating and comparatively testing the effectiveness of an antireflection treatment for an ophthalmic lens, the device comprising an image (2, 20) and a mirror (3, 30). According to the invention, the device further comprises a part (1, 10) having a first face (1A, 10A) for supporting said image (2, 20), a second face (1B, 10B) for supporting said mirror (3, 30) substantially perpendicularly to said first face, and a third face (1C, 10C) for positioning at least one ophthalmic lens, the third face being situated. facing said second face and being provided with a positioning arrangement for positioning said lens (4?, 4?, 40), the arrangement comprising at least one orifice (4A, 4B, 40A) arranged in said third face facing said mirror, in such a manner that when a user looks through said orifice, the user can see the resulting reflection of said image on said lens by means of said mirror (3, 30).

  • Patent number: 8402847
Abstract: A hydrophobic property demonstrator (100) comprises an inclinable sample support (10) and an upper tank (20) for producing droplets (GA, GB) that fall onto a sample (A, B) placed on the support. The droplets are produced regularly with a constant size by selecting a profile and diameter of a hole (23, 24) at the bottom of the tank, and by maintaining a constant water level (N) in said tank. Such a demonstrator is particularly suited for demonstrating the efficiency of the hydrophobic behavior of spectacle lenses.
