Abstract: A method for preventing the unintentional resetting of a wheel unit suitable for being mounted on a wheel of a motor vehicle, which wheel unit operates according to a plurality of distinct operating modes and includes a non-volatile memory, at least one update step that aims to update and store in the memory at least one variable for identifying the operating mode to be applied in the event of a reset, and a restoration step that is performed in the event of a reset of the wheel unit and forces the wheel unit to transition to the operating mode associated with the at least one identification variable stored during the preceding update step.

Abstract: A method for signaling the theft of a wheel of a motor vehicle. The vehicle includes a plurality of wheels and a computer. At least one of the wheels includes a sensor. The method includes, for the at least one wheel, the steps of measuring at least one value for the internal pressure of the tire of the wheel, detecting that the vehicle has been raised if the absolute value of the difference between the at least one measured internal pressure value and a predetermined reference internal pressure value is greater than a predetermined pressure difference threshold when it is detected the vehicle has been raised, detecting the detachment of the wheel when it is detected that the wheel has become detached, and signaling the theft of the wheel.

Abstract: A method for the secure transmission of messages in real time between a transmitter and a receiver that are housed on board a motor vehicle. The method includes at least a first step that is executed during a current driving cycle of the motor vehicle and consists in the receiver comparing a received first transmitter authentication code with a first receiver authentication code. The first message being rejected if the first transmitter authentication code differs from the first receiver authentication code, and the first message being accepted if the first transmitter authentication code is identical to the first receiver authentication code.
