  • Patent number: 8365593
Abstract: The present invention concerns a device (1) for measuring the position of the bed and surface of a river, in which the device comprises a support (2) along which a plurality of measurement areas (5) and means (3, 5) suitable for determining the local heat dissipation in each measurement area (5) are defined; the present invention also concerns a method for determining the position of such interfaces, in which a device (1) according to the present invention is arranged so that it intersects the interface, ensuring that one or more measurement areas (5) are immersed in each of the means constituting the interface and finding the value of the power dissipated in the measurement areas (5) from the temperature measured at said means.

  • Publication number: 20100071385
Abstract: The present invention relates to a thermoelectric motor (3) in which a material is interposed between the external plate (12) of a thermoelectric module and an external heat exchanger (4), to reduce heat resistance therebetween; the present invention further relates to a thermoelectric motor (3) in which the heat-carrying fluid flows directly over the internal plate (13) of a thermoelectric module, a temperature controlled garment with an inner metal layer and a convex heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 5728069
Abstract: A device for the pulsed pumping of liquids, particularly blood, has a body in which are formed a pumping chamber in which a pulsed flow is imparted to the liquid, an inlet duct upstream of the pumping chamber and communicating therewith, and a delivery duct downstream of the pumping chamber and communicating therewith. Two valve members constituted by lip valves are provided for regulating the one-way flow of fluid in the body from the inlet duct to the pumping chamber and from the latter to the delivery duct. Low levels of hemolysis can be achieved, if the device is pumping blood. Moreover, the device has a low production cost and is quiet. The pumping device may be incorporated into a cardiopulmonary bypass device which includes a venous reservoir, a heat exchanger and an oxygenator.
