  • Publication number: 20220136091
Abstract: A composite material includes a substrate that is thermochemically treated in order to harden the surface thereof and that is, therefore, not subject to deformations as a result of high stresses sustained by the outer layer. The composite material also includes an adhesion layer overlying the treated layer. Subsequently, an intermediate layer and a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) layer are added, wherein the DLC layer has a structure based on an amorphous carbon film. The composite material may be used in valves built into submarine equipment. The composite material is thermochemically treated and comprises a treated substrate and an adhesion layer onto which is disposed an intermediate layer that receives a final DLC layer. All of these layers are disposed on the surface of a substrate of a gate valve.

  • Publication number: 20180251913
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyamide fiber with improved comfort management properties. The present invention also discloses a method for obtaining such fiber and articles made therefrom. The polyamide fiber is produced from a hygroscopic polyamide in a multilobal cross section profile. The hygroscopic polyamide fiber is produced preferably from polyamide 5.X, X being an integer from 4 to 16. Most preferably polyamide 5.6, which is a biobased polyamide obtained from pentamethylenediamine and is derived from sugar-based renewable feedstocks. The present invention thus discloses a polyamide fiber and articles made therefrom for sportswear and leisurewear applications, with improved water absorption, wicking and drying properties, wherein the sweat is transported away from the skin and is quickly dried, thereby reducing the wet sensation and chill during activity. The present invention provides freshness and comfort by maintaining a pleasant skin temperature and microclimate.

  • Publication number: 20150188249
Abstract: Various AC cable assembly interconnection technologies for microinverter arrays are disclosed. In some embodiments, an AC cable assembly may include an AC cable connector having a plurality of spring contacts configured to contact an AC output connector of a microinverter. The spring contacts may be embodied as plunger spring contacts, stamped spring contacts, or other spring contact. The AC output connector of the microinverter includes a conductive land pattern, which is contacted by the plurality of spring contacts when the AC cable connector is mated with the AC output connector. The conductive land pattern may include multiple land patterns arranged in a circular pattern. The spring contacts of the AC cable connector may include redundant contacts configured to contact the same individual conductive land pattern. The disclosed technologies facilitate the connection of the AC cable connector and AC output connector in multiple orientations.

  • Patent number: 7251384
Abstract: An optical fiber pH sensor 100, 200, 300 is described, where a transducer mechanically couples a Bragg grating to a pH-sensitive hydrogel, said sensor comprising a central part 110, 210, 301 where are placed the optical fiber 121 containing a Bragg grating 122, the pH-sensitive hydrogel set of discs 130, and the mechanical transducer which is a spring 123 a beam 215 or still the optical fiber itself 121, the mechanical transducer assuring the strain on the Bragg grating 122. The change in hydrogel hydrodynamic volume resulting from a change of the pH of the medium introduces a force that is sufficient to cause a strain in the Bragg grating. The measure of the pH change is retrieved using the usual techniques for wavelength measurement. The pH sensor 100, 200, 300 of the invention is useful for the indirect evaluation and control of corrosion in petroleum wells and is suitable for multiplexing with other optical fiber sensors measuring the same or different parameters.
