  • Publication number: 20230347200
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system for monitoring the adjustment of the weight of a dumbbell, that can be used by a user for carrying out a gymnastic exercise, comprising: a dumbbell, provided with a hollow handle, having an axial development along an axis, capable of rotating clockwise and counterclockwise around said axis, and provided with a first end, a second end and comprising in its cavity a first locking member and a second locking member, a first plurality of weights, wherein each weight can be locked individually at said first end, by means of said first locking member or said second locking member, when said handle rotates in a way, and can be unlocked from said first end, when said handle rotates in the opposite way, a second plurality of weights, wherein each weight can be locked individually at said second end, by means of said first locking member or said second locking member, when said handle rotates in a way, and can be unlocked from said second end, when said handle rotates in the o

  • Publication number: 20170256697
Abstract: The invention relates to a thermoelectric device including a pair of different conductors joined at one head end to form a thermocouple junction, the opposite tail ends being free. The conductors have a circular or elliptical section, are arranged side-by-side in proximity of the head end and are joined by laser welding. Several pairs of conductors may be connected together by joining also the tail ends of a conductor of a pair with the tail end of the different conductor of another pair to form a thermopile comprising thermocouple junctions in series. The invention further relates to a process of manufacturing the device.

  • Publication number: 20140363125
Abstract: An improved arrangement for stripping stray light energy that is propagating in the cladding layer of an optical fiber is provided. A cladding light stripper is provided that incorporates removal of at least a portion of the coating material and/or splicing the fiber to a fiber of differing diameter and/or having a bend of constant or decreasing or varying radius to efficiently remove cladding light while distributing heat dissipation in a controlled design across the device with respect to a specific direction of input (cladding) light.

  • Publication number: 20030168226
Abstract: A package for an optical assembly of a type that uses bulk optics in an optical path will require environmental protection from contaminants. It is common to construct a substantially hermetically sealed package to provide environmental protection for the optical assembly but such hermetically sealed packages are expensive to construct and are not completely reliable. Consequently, the present invention provides a package (48) for an optical assembly with the bulk optics encapsulated by a silicone encapsulant (54) and encased within an epoxy layer (50) and supported by a substrate base (52). The package (48) for the optical assembly thus provides the bulk optics with the required environmental protection from contaminants.

  • Patent number: 5357333
Abstract: Apparatus for measuring the effective refractive index in optical fibers, in which a source sends light radiation, the wavelength of which can be varied within a predetermined interval, into a fiber span, and a detector collects the radiation intensity of the radiation collected by the detector as the wavelength varies, in order to determine the oscillation period of the fiber transmittance or reflectivity and to obtain the effective refractive index from such period.
