The graphical user interface includes a critical part area configured for a user to (i) specify that a part identified in the critical part area is to be recognized as a critical part for providing a ware, and (ii) associate one of a plurality of supply scopes with the critical part for making a first availability determination regarding the critical part. The critical part area is configured so that a second availability determination regarding the ware takes into account the first availability determination regarding the critical part.

Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods for a promise driven planning are described herein. Customer requests are received for a product, which includes the requested quantity of the product and the requested date for delivering the product. A promise date for delivering the product is determined based on the material plan of the product. The requested quantity of the product is summed to obtain a cumulative demand of the product. The cumulative demand of the product is compared with the cumulative material plan of the product. Based on the comparison, the delivery of the product is planned either based on the promise date or the requested date.

A first value is determined for a future time period as a ratio of the booked sales volume for the future time period and the forecasted sales volume for the future time period. Booked sales volume and past sales volume for one or more past time periods that are analogous to the future time period are also received. A second value is determined from a ratio of the booked sales volume and the past sales volume for the one or more past time periods. A responsible party is notified if a ratio of the second value and the first value is out of a prescribed range.
