Abstract: Video content frequently seen in gaming content and having a higher probability of being coded in transform skip mode is coded separately from remaining portions of a video coding block before being combined with regular coded portions. This enables more efficient coding of video by reducing the switching between regular coding modes and transform skip modes. The regular coded portion and the transform skip coded portion are combined in an encoder. At a corresponding decoder, inverse operations occur, such that the transform skipped residual portions are decoded and the regularly coded portions are decoded before the portions are combined for a resultant decoded video block.

Abstract: A battery pack structural and electrical assembly for circulating a coolant fluid is disclosed. The battery pack assembly includes a top cooling fluid distribution manifold attached to the top of a plurality of battery cells and a bottom cooling fluid distribution manifold that is attached to the bottom of the battery cells. A coolant fluid is circulated through the manifolds for cooling the battery cells directly. Electrical connections to the battery cells can be integrated into the manifolds for also efficiently providing electrical connections to the batteries. In addition, the battery assembly provides significant impact resistance for protecting the battery cells.

When a user desires to run a specified report against the databases, those functions that can be computed locally in the database are trapped and computed therein, whereas other functions, such as advanced statistical functions, may be distributed to remote analytic engines or other resources in the network. A management module may coordinate the transmission and assembly of the data, including to order dependencies. The management module may contain a selection engine to allocate computations to databases or other resources as a default, to test for load balancing before choosing a compute site, or apply other criteria.
