An example method of power distribution includes receiving, by a controller disposed in a vehicle, an indication of a fault associated with a load unit of a plurality of load units, wherein the load unit is communicatively coupled to an associated solid-state semiconductor switch, disconnecting, in response to the receiving the indication of the fault, the associated solid-state semiconductor switch, and transmitting, using a controller area network bus in the vehicle communicatively coupled the controller, a digital data message indicative of disconnecting the associated solid-state semiconductor switch to a vehicle control unit.

An apparatus for autonomous vehicle operation comprises an electrical board that includes a plurality of semiconductor devices; a first switch device that is electrically coupled to the plurality of semiconductor devices via a first communication bus of the electrical board; and a second switch device that is electrically coupled to the plurality of semiconductor devices via a second communication bus of the electrical board, where the second switch device is configured to route data between any two or more of the plurality of semiconductor devices using the second communication bus, and where a first data carrying capacity of the first communication bus is independent of a second data carrying capacity of the second communication bus.

    Abstract: A fluidic subsystem disposed on a vehicle includes an electric motor, a motor driver, and a fluidic pump that is disposed in a fluidic circuit that is monitored by a pressure sensor. A controller includes an instruction set that is executable to dynamically observe operation of the fluidic subsystem, from which it determines a plurality of observed parameters associated with the operation of the fluidic subsystem and a plurality of estimated parameters associated with the fluidic subsystem. A plurality of fault isolation parameters are determined based upon the observed parameters and the estimated parameters, and a fault in the fluidic subsystem is isolated based upon the fault isolation parameters. The isolated fault is communicated via the controller.
