  • Patent number: 10471841
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the thermal management of a battery of electric accumulator cells assembled within a rigid casing, said device comprising thermal storage means incorporated into said battery comprising a chamber containing a phase-change material and having a volume for exchange of heat with said accumulator cells which is delimited by at least part of said casing, the melting of the phase-change material being able to store heat, and the solidification of the phase-change material being able to release the heat previously stored. According to the invention, said chamber is equipped at its distal end with an expansion vessel able to absorb the expansions of said phase-change material as it changes phase.

  • Patent number: 7563523
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel cell start-up method, said fuel cell comprising numerous cells which are supplied by a reformer (10). According to the invention, when the reformer is cold, reformates are supplied to a first sub-assembly (12) of cells of the fuel cell and, when the reformer is hot, reformates are supplied to the first and second sub-assemblies of cells of the fuel cell. The cells belonging to the first sub-assembly are optimized in order to operate with a cold reformer and the cells belonging to the second sub-assembly (13) are optimized to operate with a hot reformer.

  • Publication number: 20080096071
Abstract: The invention relates to a line system for supplying and/or discharging fluids for an assembly of at least two identical fuel cell modules (A, B, C, D), in particular mounted on a motor vehicle, each of which comprises an elementary cell (21) stack and input and output pipes (1, 2, 3, 4, 5,) for different fluids required for operation of the fuel cell, wherein said pipes are arranged on at least one external surface of each module and the supply and/or discharge lines for at least one fluid are connected to the corresponding pipes of the module assembly by means of a single main line (C1) or several successive secondary branches (C2, C3) of the symmetric structure of each module, respectively.

  • Patent number: 7183729
Abstract: A motor vehicle including an electric drive engine capable of being successively supplied with electric power by two separate electric power sources, in particular by a set of batteries and by a fuel cell, and of the type including an accelerator pedal that is mobile between a rest position and an extreme actuated position corresponding to the maximum power capable of being supplied by the engine based on the amount of electric power available for its powering. A mechanism is provided for varying the extreme actuated position of the pedal on the basis of a parameter representing the amount of electric power available for powering the engine.

  • Publication number: 20060147768
Abstract: The invention relates to a system (1) for the reformation of fuel for the supply of hydrogen to a fuel cell (2), in particular for a motor vehicle of the type comprising a reformer device (29), a hydrogen enrichment device (33, 34) for the reformate produced by the reformer and a purification device (32) for the reformate by means of reaction with carbon monoxide. The above is characterized in comprising at least two separate paths (a, b) each comprising at least one of the above devices and a control means (39) for the selection of one path or all the paths at the same time.
