  • Patent number: 10869819
Abstract: A cosmetic composition comprising a first emulsion and a second emulsion and optionally one or more additional emulsions, each of said two or more emulsions being discretely contained within the composition and comprising an inner phase and an outer phase, each of said two or more emulsions being independently a water-in-oil emulsion, an oil-in-water emulsion, an oil-in-oil emulsion, a polyol-in-oil emulsion, a water-in-silicone emulsion, a silicone-in-water emulsion, or a polyol-in-silicone emulsion in physical contact with at least one other emulsion, at least one of said two or more emulsions being visually distinct from the others, and each of said two or more emulsions as well as said composition being independently both physically and visually stable within the composition for at least six months at ambient temperature.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 24, 2013
Date of Patent: December 22, 2020
Inventors: Faith A. Corbo, Qi Hong, Anthony D. Gonzalez
  • Patent number: 9562207
Abstract: Lubricant compositions comprising an improved ashless organic friction modifier additive, capable of reducing both friction and wear, is provided. It has been found that mixtures of fatty-alkanolamides containing secondary hydroxyls on the amino alkyl substituent, such as amide mixtures prepared from bis(2-hydroxyporopyl)amine and mixtures of at least two different C8-24 fatty acids, provide better oil solubility and friction reduction than alkanolamides with primary hydroxyl functionality, such as amide mixtures prepared from di-ethanol)amine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 12, 2013
Date of Patent: February 7, 2017
    Assignee: Chemtura Corporation
Inventors: Frank J. DeBlase, Faith A. Corbo

  • Publication number: 20160201004
Abstract: Combining a metal based friction modifier, such as a molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate, and certain esters of hydroxy carboxylic acids, such as short chain alkyl esters of citric or tartaric acid, e.g., tributyl citrate, has a synergistic effect on lowering the friction coefficient of lubricating oils allowing one to reduce the amount of metal based friction modifier needed to adequately formulate a lubricant with low friction characteristics.
