Publication number: 20160006805Abstract: According to some aspects, a transport accelerator of a client device may generate a chunk request that is derived from a fragment request and that has transport acceleration metadata. The transport acceleration metadata may indicate that the request is from a transport accelerator and/or indicate a fragment associated with the fragment request. The transport accelerator may receive a signal to cancel one or more chunk requests and/or wait to receive a full fragment. A client application of the client device may generate the signal upon receipt of an HTTP response from a server that complies with a handshaking procedure.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2014Publication date: January 7, 2016Inventors: Faith Ulupinar, Punyaslok Purkayastha, Robert Walker, Yinian Mao, Brian Harold Kelley

Patent number: 8687591Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate providing user plane support for internet protocol (IP) relays. Service data units (SDU) received at a radio communication layer can be provided to an upper communication layer, such as a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer, without regard to sequence numbers. The upper communication layer can handle reordering of the received protocol data units. Since communications related to a plurality of devices through one or more IP relays can be mapped over a single bearer, allowing reordering at the upper communication layer can mitigate delay caused where a donor or other upstream access point is delayed in providing a sequential SDU related to one of a plurality of devices downstream. In this regard, SDUs related to other devices can be processed by the upper communication layer while waiting for the sequential SDU.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2010Date of Patent: April 1, 2014Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Sai Yiu Duncan Ho, Parag Arun Agashe, Faith Ulupinar

Patent number: 8644863Abstract: Systems and methods are described that mitigating coverage gaps near region boundaries using a plurality of multi-sector broadcast (MSBC) paging channels in wireless networking environments. One or more MSBC paging channels can be assigned unique time slots, such that although the channels can be identical, they are disjointed in time. Accordingly, such channels and/or dynamically generated paging zones associated therewith can be overlapped in areas where wireless device density is high and requires substantial paging capacity. Additionally, a single paging channel can be employed in multiple instances in a paging region without overlap to mitigate inter-channel interference.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2012Date of Patent: February 4, 2014Assignee: QUALCOMM, IncorporatedInventors: Edward Harrison Teague, Faith Ulupinar, Nileshkumar J. Patent number: 8155652Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing wireless signal components for a mobile wireless access broadband service. This can include processes for measuring signal strength of an alternative frequency by tuning away from an existing frequency associated with an existing communications path. Such processes allow determining if the alternative frequency supports a subsequent communications path in a mobile broadband wireless application. Upon the determination, the process can automatically select the subsequent communications path based in part on the measured signal strength.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2007Date of Patent: April 10, 2012Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Nileshkumar J. Publication number: 20090207744Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining TuneAway time in a wireless communication system is described. A current TuneAway attribute is and a TuneAwayRequest message having a MessageSequence matching the last received TuneAwayResponse is used. A tuneaway period number n for a sector with given sectorOffset is began at TuneAwayTimeNn, wherein the TuneAwayTimeNn is a function of t0, StartOffsetN, SectorOffset, n and TuneAwayPeriodicityN. The tuneaway period number n for a sector with given sectorOffset is ended at TuneBackTimeNn, wherein the TuneBackTimeNn is a functions of TuneAwayTimeNn and TuneAwayDurationNn and if a TuneAwayTimeNn lies on a frame boundary of frames j and j+1 is determined.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2006Publication date: August 20, 2009Applicant: QUALCOMM INCORPORATEDInventors: Faith Ulupinar, Nileshkumar J. Parekh, Rajat Prakash
