The double shell housing may include an annular perforated inner shell, an annular outer shell surrounding the inner shell, and an insulation between the inner shell and the outer shell. The muffler may further comprise at least one C-bracket between the inner shell and the outer shell at each of the first and second ends of the double shell housing. Each of the C-brackets may include a first leg, a second leg, and a linking portion connecting the first leg and the second leg. The second leg may be in abutting engagement with the outer shell.
