  • Patent number: 8668419
Abstract: A shearable fastening device (1) has a shearable fastener (2) having a plurality of screwthreaded portions (3), a head portion (4) which is connected to the screws threaded portions (3) via a first predetermined weakening (5) and further predetermined weakenings (6) in the form of cross-section constrictions are provided between the screwthreaded portions (3), as well as an internal recess (7), wherein the internal recess (7) extends from the head portion (4) at least into the region of the predetermined weakenings (6). At least one stepped predetermined weakening (8) is formed by its shear-off torque (aNm) being smaller than that of the next predetermined weakening further away from the head portion (4) and the shear-off torque (aNm+1) at the next predetermined weakening closer to the head portion (4) rising again with respect to the shear-off torque (aNm) of the stepped predetermined weakening (8).

  • Patent number: 7425152
Abstract: A cable connecting device includes a bush which has at least two cylindrical cavities, into which, in each case, a contact-making element can be inserted. The contact-making element has a contact sleeve and has maintains contact-making bands on its outer side and has a locking device which, after the contact sleeve has been inserted into the cavity, secures the contact sleeve in its place. The power cable is connected to the contact sleeve and clamped in the latter by means of at least two screws on the outer side, which can be screwed into the I wall of the contact sleeve, where the screws are distributed over the circumference of the contact sleeve along an imaginary spiral so that that they can be screwed onto the power cable at different angles around a central longitudinal axis of the sleeve relative to one another.

  • Publication number: 20040248465
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a cable connecting device for fixing power cables and for producing an electrical connection between power cables. A bush having at least two cylindrical cavities, into which in each case a contact-making element can be inserted, has a contact sleeve serving to accommodate one end of a power cable. The bush also maintains contact-making bands on its outer side and has a locking device which, after the contact sleeve has been inserted into the cavity, secures the contact sleeve in its place.

  • Patent number: 6726510
Abstract: A cable lug for mounting on the end of a cable for making electrical connection between a conductor of the cable and other electrical equipment. The lug includes a palm for connecting the lug to the electrical equipment, a generally elongate cylindrical barrel for receiving therein one end of the cable conductor, and an insert for disposal within the barrel and for extending around and along the inner surface of the barrel to align the lug more concentrically on smaller cables, preferably with the barrel being conveniently made with uniform wall thickness.

  • Patent number: 6176659
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tear-off cap or shearable screw (1) comprising a plurality of thread portions (3) and a cap portion (5) connected with the thread portions (3) via a first predetermined breaking point (7), wherein further predetermined breaking points (9) in the form of cross-section tapering are provided between the thread portions (3). The present invention distinguishes itself by the fact that the tear-off torques both increase and decrease from the most remote thread portion towards the cap portion (5), this forming at least one stepped predetermined breaking point (13).

  • Patent number: 6045373
Abstract: The present invention relates to a connection terminal for connecting branch conduits to electric mains, preferably a ground lead. The connection terminal includes clamping elements which may be applied around the electric main, a contact element for establishing an electric contact between the electric main and the branch conduit, and a clamping device for clamping the clamping elements to each other and to the electric main in a safe position. The contact element includes an opening for inserting the branch conduit and a spring element having spring devices which are deformable by the branch conduit during insertion and which retain the position of the branch conduit as well as establish an electric contact between the contact element and branch conduit.
