Patent number: 9827877Abstract: A release device for the upper rail and the lower rail of a longitudinal seat adjustment system of a motor vehicle seat, the release device having a lever rotatably supported on the upper rail of the seat. An end of the lever interacts with the locking means and optionally releases the locking means. A handle is provided at the other end. If the handle is operated, the lever moves relative to the upper rail from a passive position to a release position and moves the locking means from a locking position to a releasing position. So the release device automatically moves into a passive position of the release device, a spring element is provided, which preloads the lever into the passive position of the lever. The spring element additionally supports the lever on the upper rail.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2012Date of Patent: November 28, 2017Assignee: KEIPER GMBH & CO. KGInventors: Falko Jähner, Georg Ruess, Jürgen Krebs

Publication number: 20150360588Abstract: A locking mechanism (7) is provided for the longitudinal adjustment of a vehicle seat, by which a first rail (3) can be fixed relative to a second rail (4). A fixing device (5) is connected to one of the rails and fixes the rail by reversibly engaging a recess (6) in the other rail. A vehicle seat is also provided having the locking mechanism. A process is provided for producing the locking mechanism.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2014Publication date: December 17, 2015Applicant: Johnson Controls GmbHInventors: Joachim FLICK, Falko JÄHNER

Patent number: 9132750Abstract: A longitudinal adjuster (3) for a vehicle seat (1), particularly a motor vehicle seat, has at least one first seat track (5) having catches (20) disposed in at least one row running in the longitudinal axis (x) of the seat. Each catch (20) includes a front flank (21a) and a rear flank (21a) in the longitudinal axis (x) of the seat, and at least one second seat track (8) that can be displaced relative to the first seat track (5) in the longitudinal axis (x) of the seat and locked to the same and at least two catch plates (12) for locking the first seat track (5) to the second seat track (8). The catch plates (12) are displaceably supported in the locking direction (z) in the second seat track (8) and comprise teeth (12b) for engaging in the catches (20) of the first seat track (5). Each tooth (12b) includes a front and a rear tooth flank (12d) in the longitudinal axis (x) of the seat. Each of the catch plates (12) includes exactly two teeth (12b) per associated row of catches (20).Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2009Date of Patent: September 15, 2015Assignee: KEIPER GmbH & Co. KG.Inventors: Falko Jähner, Hans Dropmann

Publication number: 20140348574Abstract: The invention relates to a release device for the upper rail and the lower rail of a longitudinal seat adjustment system of a motor vehicle seat. A release device is provided, which release device has a lever that preferably rotatably supported on the upper rail of the vehicle seat. An end of said lever interacts with the locking means and optionally releases the locking means. A handle is provided at the other end. If said handle is operated, the lever moves, preferably rotates, relative to the upper rail from a passive position of the lever to a release position of the lever and moves the locking means from a locking position of the locking means to a releasing position. In order to ensure that the release device automatically moves into a passive position of the release device, in which passive position the release device does not interact with the locking means in a releasing manner, a spring element is provided, which preloads the lever into the passive position of the lever.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2012Publication date: November 27, 2014Inventors: Falko Jähner, Georg Ruess, Jürgen Krebs

Patent number: 6799800Abstract: In a longitudinal adjuster for a vehicle seat having a freely pivotable backrest, with the longitudinal adjuster having a first seat rail, a second seat rail, in relation to which the first seat rail can be slid in the longitudinal direction, and a memory device (11) which is assigned to the first seat rail, interacts with the second seat rail and stores a longitudinal seat position which can be left by means of a longitudinal displacement of the vehicle seat when the backrest pivots freely, and resumed when the backrest pivots back, a displacement measuring device (21), which can be operatively connected to the second seat rail, and a control signal generator (53), which can move in relation to the displacement measuring device (21), are provided for playing a role in resuming the stored longitudinal seat position.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2004Date of Patent: October 5, 2004Assignee: Keiper GmbH & Co.
