  • Patent number: 7218608
Abstract: A switching fabric sets a congestion indicator bit (EFCI bit) in an ATM cell if any queue through which the ATM cell passes is filled above a lower threshold. A Traffic Manager monitors the field of the EFCI bit as cells arrive at an output port of the switching fabric. The traffic manager periodically calculates the ratio of ATM cells having the EFCI congestion bit set to all ATM cells routed to a particular output port. The periodically calculated ratio is used as an input parameter to a Random Early Detection (RED) algorithm. The RED algorithm selects a cell for the switch fabric to drop, by use of a random selection method. The destination computer then does not receive the packet since cells forming part of the packet have been discarded.

  • Patent number: 7219045
Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods for reliability simulations in aged circuits whose operation has been degraded through hot-carrier or other effects by allowing design rules on degradation to be included in the netlist. Once the hot-carrier circuit simulation is launched, the rules are checked and the reliability design rule violations are reported. The process can be performed on either the layout or schematic window. The design rule criteria can be any device parameter and can be expressed in absolute or relative terms. The criteria can be based on device type, model card name, instance geometry, or temperature. Additionally, values can be set prior to beginning the simulation.

  • Patent number: 7216840
Abstract: A supporting framework for a swivel chair or table includes a gas spring and a cylinder put on the gas spring. The cylinder includes two opposite holes and a plurality of equally circumferentially spaced longitudinal apertures. Spring loaded posts and lock bars are located in the apertures. A fastening ring rests upon the cylinder and includes a plurality of equally circumferentially spaced openings having a diameter less than a diameter of the posts but slightly larger than a diameter of the lock bars. A hollow cap with the gas spring projected therethrough includes two opposite channels of an inverted L-shape. Two, lock pins are inserted through the channels and the holes for fastening the cap and the cylinder together. Moving the lock pins from upper second positions to lower first positions in the channels will enable the gas spring to rotate or vice versa will lock the same.

  • Patent number: 7218752
Abstract: This invention proposes a feature based data structure for computer manikin that is constructed from the scanned data of common 3D body scanners. The scanned data is first segmented into six parts and then encoded into range images. Feature recognition algorithms are developed and coded into computer algorithms. The software system can automatically recognize the important human feature points and feature curves. The computer manikin is constructed based on the interpolation between the feature curves. The manikin has geodetic latitudinal and longitudinal curves that pass through the geometric feature points of human body. The geodetic coordination contains all the important features that can be extracted as needed for apparel or ergonomic design, medical researches, and movie amusement industry.

The method includes forming modes for each encountered non-zero amplitude and forming events for the modes in the mode-modified series formed by setting to zero all non-zero amplitudes other than the amplitude defining the mode. An event for modes for amplitudes greater than 1 is a run of none or more zero-valued coefficients followed a non-zero amplitude in the mode-modified series. A first mode is defined for amplitude 1 wherein an event is a run of none or more zero-valued coefficients followed the amplitude 1 coefficient in the mode-modified series. In another embodiment, a first mode is defined for amplitude 1 wherein an event is a run in the mode-modified series of none or more zero-valued coefficients followed by a run of one of a predefined set of sequences, each sequence in the set being a sequence of l's and 0's starting with a coefficient of amplitude 1.
