  • Publication number: 20150348234
Abstract: A method, image processing apparatus, and computer readable medium for image enhancement are provided. In the method, a low-resolution image is received and upscaled to generate an upscaled image having first pixels. Edge detection is performed on the upscaled image to obtain edge information of the first pixels. Each piece of the edge information includes an edge direction and an edge intensity, and each of the edge directions includes a horizontal and vertical component having a constant summation. A non-edge region of the upscaled image is enhanced to generate a high-resolution detail image; based on unsharp masking sharpening methods, an edge region of the low-passed upscaled image is enhanced according to the horizontal and vertical components of the edge directions to generate a high-resolution edge image. Image fusion is performed on the high-resolution edge image and the high-resolution detail image according to the edge intensities to generate a super-resolution image.

  • Publication number: 20140058483
Abstract: Visual or photic stimuli generating methods, devices and control systems for inducing steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) from human viewers without causing discomfort to the viewers or distorting the embedding images are disclosed. The control system includes a stimuli-generating device and an electroencephalography (EEG) sensing device. The stimuli-generating device includes a first and a second light source. The first light source generates a flickering light with a first wavelength while a second light source generates another flickering light with one or more wavelength(s) differ from that of the first one. Together, the light sources generate visual/photic stimuli flickering above their critical flicker fusion threshold while maintaining the colorfulness and hue of the embedding images. At least one electrode of the EEG sensing device is connected to each viewer, configured to receive and analyze his/her EEG signals in order to detect and determine his/her responses to the stimuli.

  • Patent number: 8451199
Abstract: A color adjustment method for a color sequential liquid crystal display (LCD) having at least one white light source is provided. In the color adjustment method, firstly, an original image signal is converted into a target color point located in a chromaticity diagram in a color space. Then, a modified image signal having white data is calculated according to the original image signal. Afterwards, the modified image signal is converted into a main color point located in the chromaticity diagram by using a matrix group. Then, a plurality of subfield data are calculated according to the main color point and the target color point. The subfield data are used for enabling the main color point to fall on the target color point.

  • Publication number: 20100045707
Abstract: A color sequential method for displaying images is suitable for applying in a display with pixels. Each of frames is formed by displaying a first sub-frame, a second sub-frame and a third sub-frame within a displaying time by the pixels. By calculating differences in gray levels between neighboring pixels, variations are gained. Then, a first just noticeable difference is provided, and the pixels having the variations larger than the first just noticeable difference are detected. Next, times of displaying the first, the second and the third sub-frames in the pixels are raised within the displaying time.
