  • Patent number: 8908956
Abstract: A method for inspecting surface defect of metal balls by image recognition includes the steps of feeding metal ball, capturing image for a first time, making metal ball rotate, capturing image for a second time, comparing images, and discharging metal balls. With the above steps, not only can the metal balls be sorted into the acceptable and the unacceptable metal balls, but the unacceptable metal balls can be sorted into different kinds according to the defects such as scratch, strain, and so on. Hence, effective data can be offered to improve the metal ball manufacturing process accurately.

  • Publication number: 20140267680
Abstract: An automatic steel ball inspection method and system are capable of inspecting surfaces and physical properties of the steel balls, and sorting out non-targeted and non-qualified steel balls. The inspection mainly includes detecting the physical properties of the steel balls by inspecting the eddy current of the steel balls, sorting out non-targeted steel balls, taking pictures of the surfaces of the steel balls with an image pickup device, comparing the pictures of the surfaces of the steel balls, and sorting out non-qualified steel balls.

  • Publication number: 20140266173
Abstract: An inspection device and method are capable of inspecting physical properties of a steel ball quickly and precisely by using eddy current. The inspection device includes an inspection passage and an inspector has a plurality of probes located in the inspection passage. Each of the probes can produce a specific magnetic field and detect eddy current change produced by the steel ball when moving through the magnetic field, whereby to produce a signal. Then, the signal will be analyzed by the inspector and converted into physical property data of the steel ball.

  • Patent number: 8657156
Abstract: A feeding device for a balls-sorting machine serves to guide balls to a rotary ball-carrying disc disposed in a housing, the ball-carrying disc is formed with a plurality of ball-falling holes. The feeding device comprises: a feeding hopper, a dividing device, and a control unit. The feeding hopper includes a feeding hole and a feeding passage connected to the housing. The dividing device is abutted against the ball-carrying disc and formed with a receiving space, and a sub-inputting hole and a sub-outputting hole which are in communication with the receiving space, the sub-inputting hole is connected to the feeding passage, and the sub-outputting hole is located corresponding to the ball-falling holes of the ball-carrying disc.

  • Publication number: 20130162809
Abstract: A light-homogenizing imaging device for a bead sorting machine comprises: a light permeable ball carrier, two light sources, and an image pick-up device. The light permeable ball carrier is formed with a hole for holding a ball to be checked, a depth of the hole is larger than a diameter of the ball, and a cross sectional area of the hole is larger than or equal to a cross sectional area of the ball. The two light sources are disposed at both sides of the light permeable ball carrier and located in the direction of the hole. The image pick-up device is located toward the hole of the light permeable ball carrier. The light permeability of the light permeable carrier enables the light to be evenly dispersed over the surface of the ball without producing shadows that has influence on the ball checking, thus improving the checking accuracy.
