  • Patent number: 9048756
Abstract: Leakage current through stray or parasitic capacitance (which is particularly large in devices such as photovoltaic cell arrays and which are damaged by such leakage currents) due to common mode switching noise in a full bridge single phase power converter is reduced at high frequencies by magnetically coupling the two phase legs on the AC side of the power converter and connecting mid points of the AC and DC sides of the power converter and is reduced at low frequencies by use of a feedback arrangement that modifies sinusoidal modulation of the switches of the full bridge converter to function as an active filter. The magnetic coupling for the two phase legs is designed in a simple manner to avoid saturation based on volt-second considerations.

  • Publication number: 20140296002
Abstract: A foldable ball net frame includes a main pipe, a foldable net frame, a stop ring, support poles, and a net. The foldable net frame includes an upper nest and a lower nest. One end of a main support arm of the foldable net frame is hingedly connected to the upper nest, and another end is hingedly connected to one end of a secondary support arm. Another end of the secondary support arm is hingedly connected to the lower nest. The stop ring is disposed between the upper nest and the lower nest and locked on the main pipe. The support poles and the main support arms are coaxial. The support poles are disposed at the distal ends of the main support arms, respectively. The net has buttonholes. The net is detachably connected to the distal ends of the support poles through the buttonholes.

  • Patent number: 8412919
Abstract: A method for controlling a multi-port Network Interface Card (NIC) is provided. In a computer using the multi-port NIC with a plurality of NIC ports, a plurality of control options is set into a Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) setup menu, so that a user individually controls the NIC ports. Furthermore, due to the characteristic that after a reference code process in the BIOS restarts a system, the set of hardware becomes effective, an action of controlling the NIC ports is set before a reference code process restarts the system.

  • Publication number: 20100070680
Abstract: A memory management method during a power-on self test is used to perform an access management on an option ROM during a power-on self test after a personal computer is powered on. The memory management method includes the following steps. When a BIOS is booted, an option ROM is detected. A memory segment is designated in a conventional memory. It is determined whether the memory segment is empty or not. If the memory segment is not empty, a register segment with the same capacity as the memory segment is applied for from an extended memory, and data in the memory segment is moved to the register segment for being stored. If the memory segment is empty, data in the option ROM is moved to the memory segment. The option ROM in the memory segment is set.

  • Publication number: 20030190121
Abstract: The present invention relates to an athermal tunable filter in which the wavelength and intensity responses of the filter can be independently tuned by moving the location of the filter. The filter is fabricated by recording multiple volume phase holographic gratings in highly stable photosensitive glasses (e.g. Ge-doped fused silica optic fiber preforms). The athermal operation is realized by an innovative design, in which the shift of the effective grating period induced by the thermal-optic effect is automatically compensated by the shift of incident and output beam angles. In addition, by recording the gratings in selected areas, the intensity response of the filter can also be independently tuned.

  • Patent number: 5766956
Abstract: A-compact, diode laser-based sensor has applications in biological and chemical analysis. Unlike existing optical waveguide-based sensors, no external coupling to external optical fibers or waveguides is required to perform optical chemical, immunological or nucleic acid-based assay or to detect the presence of toxic or otherwise important chemicals. The sensor includes a surface-sensitive diode laser having a substrate layer, an n-contact layer positioned on a bottom surface of the substrate, an n-clad layer overlying the top surface of the substrate, a first guide layer overlying the n-clad layer, a quantum well layer overlying the first guide layer, a second guide layer overlying the first quantum well layer, a p-clad layer overlying the second guided layer and a p-doped cap layer overlying the p-clad layer. A pair of electrodes separated by a surface-sensitive region is positioned on the cap layer.
