Abstract: An Optical Time Domain Reflectomeler (OTDR) tests an optical fiber by generating, transmitting, and receiving light signals from an optical fiber. The OTDR generates light signals having different characteristics and stitches these light signals into an OTDR trace. Backscatter and properties such as dynamic range effect the quality of the OTDR trace.

Abstract: A heat exchanger can be configured to utilize multiple sections of hardway fins that can be configured so that an upper first section of the fins can build up liquid head and a second lower section of the fins can be configured to distribute liquid in an even, or uniform, manner. The first section of fins can utilize a different type of hole arrangement than the second section of fins. For instance, the diameter or width of the holes in the first section may differ from the diameter or width of the holes of the second section. In addition (or as an alternative), fin frequency and/or spacing between immediately adjacent holes in the first section of fins may be different from the spacing between immediately adjacent holes in the second section of fins.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a rehabilitation training equipment and a rehabilitation training system. The rehabilitation training equipment includes a driving device, a back placement device, a leg aid device, a cushion device, a first feedback device, and a control device. The driving device is configured to adjust rotation angles between the back placement device, the cushion device, and the leg aid device to achieve a posture training mode selected from a plurality of posture training modes including a standing mode, a sitting-up mode, and a lying mode. The first feedback device is used to obtain core muscle strength parameters of the human body. The control device is electrically connected to the first feedback device and the driving device, and is configured to obtain the core muscle strength parameters and send a control signal to the driving device.

Abstract: A testing device includes a test port, a light source, a measurement element, and a controller. A method of testing an optical system with the testing device includes, and/or the testing device is configured for, measuring an unloaded reference signal when the testing device is not connected to the optical system and storing the unloaded reference signal in a memory of the testing device. The method and/or configuration also includes detecting a signal from the optical system after storing the unloaded reference signal. Based on the detected signal, it is determined that the optical system is connected to a test port of the testing device. A test of the optical system with the testing device is automatically initiated in response to determining that the optical system is connected to the test port of the testing device.

Abstract: A heat exchanger apparatus can be configured so that there is at least one “U” or “C” shape configured manifold in combination with at least one “Z” or “S” shape configured manifold for the heat exchanger apparatus for the input and output of fluid into and out of the heat exchangers of the heat exchanger apparatus. In some embodiments, downstream and/or upstream lines can be connected to the manifolds at a center or off-center point for conveying inlet fluid and outlet fluid. A method of retrofitting a pre-existing plant, building a new plant, or designing a new plant that utilizes an embodiment of the heat exchanger apparatus can help provide an improved heat exchanger arrangement without significantly increasing the footprint needed for the arrangement so that a plant can be improved with an embodiment of the apparatus without requiring an enlarged footprint for the plant.

After determining the reference power, the method includes connecting the optical time-domain reflectometer to one end of the optical network and connecting the optical reflector to an opposite end of the optical network. The method also includes determining a return power through the optical network based on a power level of a reflected light pulse reflected through the optical network from the optical reflector to the optical time-domain reflectometer. The method further includes determining a loss of the optical network based on the reference power and the return power.
