  • Patent number: 6491327
Abstract: In a door lever handle assembly, a latch bolt is movable between extended and retracted positions and is coupled operably to a spindle having opposite ends respectively and non-rotatably coupled to outside and inside lever handles. Operation of either one of the outside and inside lever handles causes actuating parts of a force transmitting member disposed on the spindle to disengage one of left and right force bearing parts of a sliding seat mounted inwardly of and slidably on one of the outside and inside lever handles and to push the other of the left and right force bearing parts against action of a biasing unit.

  • Patent number: 6481253
Abstract: A door lock-and-handle assembly includes a housing receiving a latch bolt and a dead bolt, an escutcheon defining a recess and an engaging groove, a handle mounted on the escutcheon and having a driving member, a spindle coupled to the dead bolt and having a rectangular engaging portion, and a locking member received in the recess and operable to move between a locked position, where the locking member engages the driving member and the engaging groove so as to prevent turning of the handle, and an unlocked position, where the locking member disengages from the driving member and the engaging groove. The locking member is formed with an L-shaped opening having first and second rectangular spaces which cooperately define the L-shaped opening. The engaging portion of the spindle is received in the first rectangular space when the locking member is in the unlocked position, and is received in the second rectangular space when the locking member is in the locked position.

  • Patent number: 6361090
Abstract: A lock apparatus includes a lock housing having a mounting wall and a surrounding wall which cooperatively confine a receiving space. A latch actuator is mounted on the lock housing, and includes an operable rotary disc and a spindle which extends rotatably into the receiving space via a spindle hole formed in the mounting wall. The rotary disc is operable to rotate the latch actuator between locking and unlocking positions. The spindle has a positioning section which has a peripheral portion formed with flat first and second positioning surfaces that are angularly displaced from each other. A latch member is mounted on the lock housing, and is associated operably with the latch actuator. An elongated spring plate is mounted in the receiving space, and is disposed perpendicular to the spindle. The spring plate abuts against the first positioning surface to retain the latch actuator in the locking position, and abuts against the second positioning surface to retain the latch actuator in the unlocking position.

  • Patent number: 6357807
Abstract: A door lock includes a handle, a lever seat having a lever, a cam for camming the lever, a handle orienting unit, a transmission shaft connected to the handle and the cam, and a latch operable by the lever. The lever seat has an annular flange and two opposite lugs. The cam has a tubular stud extending into the annular flange. The tubular stud has a bifurcated end formed with two slits. The handle orienting unit has a torsion spring and a cap having a base wall and a peripheral side wall which has two notched edges. The torsion spring has two end sections abutting respectively against one of the notched edges and one of the lugs. The base wall has an inner edge having two tongues that engage respectively the slits of the bifurcated end.

  • Patent number: 6352289
Abstract: In a lock apparatus, a latch member is rotatable with an operating lever about the axis of a spindle, and has a first end portion mounted pivotally on the operating lever about a pivot axis transverse to the spindle axis. A switch member is operable to move between a locking position, in which the switch member engages a notch in the operating lever to prevent operation of the operating lever, and an unlocking position, in which the switch member is disengaged from the operating lever to permit operation of the operating lever. The latch member is depressible to cause pivoting movement thereof about the pivot axis and to enable an opposite second end portion thereof to push the switch member and to move the switch member from the locking position to the unlocking position when the switch member is disposed in the locking position prior to depression of the latch member.
