  • Patent number: 10667297
Abstract: Techniques for mobility-aware contention procedures on a shared communication medium are disclosed. A connection failure associated with mobility between a source access point and a target access point sharing a communication medium may be detected. Based on the detected connection failure, a backoff threshold associated with contention-based access to the communication medium may be adapted. Contention for access to the communication medium may then proceed in accordance with the adapted backoff threshold.

  • Publication number: 20200127781
Abstract: Systems and methods for wireless communication include a user equipment (UE) and a base station, wherein the UE transmits additional channel state information (A-CSI), along with ACK/NACK (or “A/N”) reporting to the base station in a soft A/N payload. The A/N reporting is responsive to downlink control information (DCI) grants in a downlink transmission from the base station. The A-CSI reporting is responsive one or more DCIs which include a CSI trigger. Even if one or more DCIs with CSI triggers are missed in the downlink transmission, the UE is designed to detect whether there may be any missing DCIs with CSI triggers and provide A-CSI reporting in the soft A/N payload based on this detection.

  • Publication number: 20200112357
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices channel quality indicator (CQI) reporting based on demodulation reference signal (DMRS) from a base station are described. In some cases, a base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with such DMRS based CQI reporting (e.g., by transmitting a CQI reporting configuration to the UE). The CQI reporting configuration may specify the UE is to report CQI based on DMRS and, in some cases, may configure the UE to report the CQI with hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. A UE may receive a control message that indicates a resource for reception of a downlink transmission and an uplink control resource for transmission of CQI information. The UE may identify a DMRS of the downlink transmission, calculate a CQI based on the DMRS, and transmit the calculated CQI to the base station via the uplink control resource indicated by the received control message.
