Abstract: A combined flexible and rigid intubating video laryngoscope. The laryngoscope has a handle, and a rigid blade, having a proximal end connectible to the handle and a distal end projecting therefrom. The laryngoscope also has a flexible video endoscope having a distal end connectible near the distal end of the blade, the distal end of the endoscope being movable relative to the distal end of the blade, so as to enable the endoscope to obtain a variable view including a more anterior anatomical view of a patient's vocal cords during direct laryngoscopy.

Abstract: The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition that includes a) one or both of i) a peptide ligand that binds a zeta receptor and ii) at least one cancer chemotherapeutic agent; and b) a sustained release formulation. The invention also provides a combination including at least a portion of a tissue comprising one or more cells harboring a zeta receptor, such as a cancer cell or a precancerous cell, in contact with a pharmaceutical composition of the invention. Additionally the invention provides a method of treating a pathology that responds to a peptide ligand that binds a zeta receptor that includes a step of contacting a tissue characteristic of the pathology and containing cells harboring a zeta receptor, with a pharmaceutical composition of the invention.

Abstract: Described herein are devices and methods for facilitating the application of therapeutic agents, such as silver nitrate, in the nasal cavity, for example, to achieve hemostasis for epistaxis, and in the airway, for example, to reduce the size of granulation tissue. In some embodiments, the methods and devices utilize a fiberoptic laryngoscope or flexible bronchoscope, which can be used for the examination and treatment of the upper airway.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process for improving the scent of nasal medication comprising the steps of presenting a person with a fragrance choice comprised of a plurality of fragrance selections, receiving from the person a selection of a fragrance from said fragrance choice, thereby producing a selected fragrance, and adding to a nasal medication a scenting agent wherein the scenting agent causes a fragrance of the nasal medication to substantially mimic the selected fragrance, thereby producing a scented nasal medication.
