  • Publication number: 20240401424
Abstract: An anchor system, including a mandrel, a cone disposed upon the mandrel, a slip disposed upon the mandrel and adjacent the cone, and a retainer interactive with the cone, the slip and the mandrel to initially prevent the slip from climbing the cone. A method for operating an anchor system including passing a load through a slip, a retainer in contact with the slip and a cone in contact with the retainer while preventing relative movement between the skip and the cone, moving the slip, retainer, and cone relative to a mandrel having a recess, locating the retainer radially outwardly of the recess, urging the retainer into the recess with the slip and the cone. A borehole system including a borehole in a subsurface formation, a string in the borehole, and an anchor system disposed within or as a part of the string.

  • Publication number: 20220316281
Abstract: An electrically conductive ceramic composite conductor configured for downhole operations includes a first portion formed from an electrically non-conductive ceramic material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). The first portion includes an outer surface. A second portion is disposed radially inwardly of the outer surface. The second portion is formed from an electrically conductive ceramic material having a second CTE that is substantially similar to the first CTE.

  • Patent number: 7226303
Abstract: An electrical connector for use in downhole environment and methods for use are provided. In one aspect, an electrical connector comprises a substantially cylindrical connector body having a first end and a second end. A groove is formed around an outer surface of the connector body wherein the groove has a first substantially conically beveled surface on a side of the groove proximate the second end. A back-up ring has a second substantially conically beveled surface and is adapted to act cooperatively with an elastomer seal to close an extrusion gap between the connector body and a surrounding surface when the elastomer seal is exposed to a positive differential pressure from the first end to the second end. In another aspect, a conical surface on the connector body is forced to engage a mating surface on a bulkhead, thereby forming a metal to metal seal.
