Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) image display apparatus includes a display panel configured to display a 3D image; a light guide panel disposed on a rear surface of the display panel to emit light to the display panel; a first light source configured to irradiate light toward the light guide panel; a second light source configured to irradiate light toward the light guide panel; and a controller configured to control the first light source and the second light source to emit light alternately, wherein the light guide panel includes a first pattern which responds to the first light source and does not respond to the second light source, and a second pattern which responds to the second light source and does not respond to the first light source.

Abstract: A display device and a method of controlling the same are provided. The display device includes: a display panel including a plurality of pixels, each of which includes a plurality of sub pixels; a prism panel at one side of the display panel and including a prism array and a liquid crystal; a prism panel driver configured to apply voltage to the prism panel; and a controller configured to display a plurality of image frames on the display panel and to control a driving state of the prism panel variably while the plurality of image frames is displayed.

Abstract: A mobile device is provided which is capable of displaying a hologram. The mobile device includes a main body including a screen; a light guide member disposed above the screen; an entrance optical member disposed on a surface of the light guide member; and an image hologram disposed on a surface of the light guide member and laterally spaced apart from the entrance optical member. When an area of the screen corresponding to the entrance optical member emits a light, a holographic image stored in the image hologram is displayed above the light guide member.

Abstract: A display apparatus is disclosed. The display apparatus includes an image processor configured to extract a main object from an image frame so as to generate a 2D image frame in a region of the extracted main object in order to generate a 3D image frame in regions other than the main object in the image frame; a display panel configured to alternately output the 2D image frame having a predetermined first resolution and the 3D image frame having a predetermined second resolution; and a controller configured to control a polarization direction of light output from the display panel in synchronization with outputs of the 2D image frame and the 3D image frame. Thus, the display apparatus may provide a high-resolution 3D image and improved depth.

Abstract: A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus includes a display panel; a backlight configured to irradiate visible ray to the display panel in a 2D mode, and configured to irradiate ultraviolet ray to the display panel in a 3D mode; and a 3D film disposed between the display panel and backlight, wherein the 3D film comprises: a pattern formed by a plurality of lines distanced from one another by a predetermined distance; and a coating layer that is formed on one side of the plurality of lines pattern and transmits or reflects light patterned by the plurality of lines pattern, per line. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent deterioration of resolution of a screen image, provide a simple structure and enable a change to and from a 2D mode and a 3D mode.

Abstract: A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus includes: a display panel configured to include a plurality of pixels including a plurality of sub pixels and display an image frame; a visual field divider configured to be disposed on a front surface of the display panel; and a controller configured to render and display a first image frame to display a first view image in at least some of the plurality of sub pixels and a second image frame so that a second view image is shifted and displayed based on a position in which the first view image is displayed in the at least some of the sub pixels based on a distance between the display panel and the visual field divider.
