  • Patent number: 4727671
Abstract: A fishing unit consisting of a drum, a fishing line secured at one end to the drum and being wound on the drum with a fishhook and casting weight secured to the other end of the line extending from the drum, and a handle for the drum arranged to be grasped by the user with his forefinger extended to overlie the line windings on the drum to prevent unwinding of the line, with the drum axis substantially parallel to the forefinger, so that when the user moves his forearm and wrist forwardly with a snapping motion, and releases his forefinger from the windings, the hook and weight will be propelled forwardly by their own momentum, with the fishing line spinning freely from the forward end of the drum. The drum is hollow and sealed to be buoyant, so that it will not sink if dropped in water, and the hollow interior is specially configurated to permit the storage of additional fishing line, hooks, bait and other fishing gear.

  • Patent number: 4513837
Abstract: A motorcycle having in-line front and rear wheels, and a pair of outrigger wheels spaced laterally apart at opposite sides of the rear wheel. The outrigger wheels may be extended downwardly to engage the roadway to provide lateral support against overturning, or retracted upwardly when their use is not desired. When extended, they are yieldable upwardly to permit leaning of the vehicle in turns. A control system permits selective use of a first operational mode in which the outrigger wheels are automatically retracted only at vehicle speeds above a pre-set level, a second mode in which the wheels remain extended at all speeds, and a third mode in which the wheels are retracted at all speeds.

  • Patent number: 4271625
Abstract: An ocean crab trap consisting of a non-buoyant ring adapted to be secured to the end of a fishing line for casting or dropping to lie on the ocean floor, and adapted to have suitable bait secured therein, and a plurality of resilient snare nooses secured to the ring in spaced relation around its periphery and projecting outwardly therefrom, in order that a crab feeding on the bait must be standing in at least one of the nooses so as to be snared thereby when the fishing line is pulled in.
