  • Publication number: 20240053410
Abstract: An electronic device can include a processor programmed to detect connection of an external power source to the electronic device, determine an estimated disconnection time at which the external power source is expected to be disconnected from the electronic device, analyze power grid data corresponding to the external power source to identify one or more desired background processing intervals and one or more undesired background processing intervals prior to the estimated disconnection time, and perform background processing during the identified one or more desired battery charging intervals and inhibit background processing during the one or more undesired battery charging intervals. The processor can be programmed to determine an estimated disconnection time using a machine learning model.

  • Publication number: 20240055885
Abstract: An electronic device can include a power system including a battery and a processor programmed to detect connection of an external power source to the electronic device, determine an estimated disconnection time at which the external power source is expected to be disconnected from the electronic device, analyze power grid data corresponding to the external power source to identify one or more desired battery charging intervals and one or more undesired battery charging intervals prior to the estimated disconnection time, and operate the power system to charge the battery from the external power source during the identified one or more desired battery charging intervals and inhibit battery charging during the one or more undesired battery charging intervals. The processor can be programmed to inhibit battery charging by reducing the rate at which the battery charges or by preventing battery charging.

  • Publication number: 20200082472
Abstract: A method may include receiving a purchase payload including an electronic service order indication that specifies an electronic service product purchased proximate to a purchase of an electronic device with which the electronic service product is to be associated. The purchase payload may include a unique device identifier that identifies the electronic device and an electronic service identifier that identifies the electronic service product. The method may also include receiving a qualifying event indication associated with the electronic device indicating that a qualifying event associated with the unique device identifier has occurred. The method may also include triggering, in response to the qualifying event, activation of the electronic service product identified by the electronic service identifier for the electronic device identified by the unique device identifier.

  • Patent number: 9961087
Abstract: The present technology provides a less burdensome mechanism to bring media items owned or licensed in the physical world into an account hosted by an electronic media provider. A specific use case deals with magazine subscriptions wherein the electronic media provider can send entity identifying information to a publisher clearinghouse that has subscription data for many different magazines. If the entity information sufficiently matches subscription information, the clearinghouse sends back data identifying magazines for which the entity is entitled to a digital copy, and these magazines become available to the user through the electronic media provider.

  • Patent number: 9235840
Abstract: Systems and method are provided for delivering notifications to user regarding use of their authentication information. The delivery of notifications involves ascertaining a device identifier associated with a request received from a user device to engage in a transaction using the authentication information and comparing this device identifier associated with the request to a plurality of known device identifiers previously associated with the authentication information. Thereafter, a notification for a user associated with the authentication information can be generated and delivered, if the device identifier is not among the plurality of known device identifiers. In the systems and methods, contact information for delivering the notification is based on contact information for at least one previous transaction that meets a selection criteria and that is associated with the authentication information.

  • Publication number: 20130339154
Abstract: System and methods for delivering personalized offers are provided. In particular, based on an identification of a user from a plurality of users associated with a portal, items and inducements for an offer can be generated and delivered to the user. This involves identifying other user associated with the item and the portal and projecting a degree of interest for the user in the item based on similarity data between the plurality of users. The similarity data can be utilized and generated using a collaborative filter engine. Once items and corresponding inducements are identified, a communication can be provided for the user that facilitates access to information regarding the item and the associated inducement.

  • Publication number: 20120022931
Abstract: Techniques and systems for acquisition of digital assets in a bulk fashion are disclosed. In one embodiment, upon accessing an online store, a digital asset and a quantity to be acquired (e.g., purchased) can be identified. In some cases, a discounted cost for acquisition of the quantity of the digital asset can be permitted, provided the quantity is sufficient. After payment of the discounted cost, a set of redeemable codes can be electronically provided. Each of the redeemable codes can be thereafter redeemed for acquisition of the digital asset.
