  • Publication number: 20220212921
Abstract: A method for reusing waste including organic components in a bath of molten salt including providing to a reactor, at least one salt or a mixture of salts including at least one alkali metal hydroxide, providing the waste to the reactor, heating the at least one salt or mixture of salts in the reactor at a temperature above the melting point of the salt. Thus, the provided salt melts to form a liquid reaction medium, and induces an at least partial oxidation of the organic components. At least one compound resulting from this oxidation is recovered. At least one alkali metal hydroxide includes water of crystallisation, acting as oxidising agent for the organic compounds in the reaction medium, in such a way as to participate in the production of dihydrogen, the latter being recovered for the reuse thereof.

  • Patent number: 7820317
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for treating all types of lithium anode cells and batteries by means of a hydrometallurgical process at room temperature. The treatment method enables cells and batteries comprising a metallic lithium-based anode or an anode containing lithium incorporated in an anodic insertion compound to be treated under safe conditions, thus enabling the metallic casings, electrode contacts, cathode metal oxides and lithium salts to be separated and recovered.

  • Publication number: 20100062673
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for integral recycling of cathode ray tubes characterized in that it enables glasses which compose said cathode ray tubes and luminophores deposited on an internal surface of screens to be recycled by associating the following steps: opening said cathode ray tubes by means of a laser source; dry cleaning by means of surface treatment agents; and recycling the luminophores by acid-base means in the presence of fluorides. Well-chosen association of a particular opening method, of a dry surface treatment and a hydrometallurgical treatment step of the luminophores powders results in a method enabling both protection of environment and of a workstation and a high material valorization rate.

  • Patent number: 7115242
Abstract: A method of synthesis of alkali metal ferrates and alkaline earth metal ferrates, in which a trivalent iron compound is mixed with potash and optionally persulphate, and the mixture is heated at a temperature in the range of about 250 to about 500° C. for about 1 to 10 hours. The invention also relates to the use of the ferrates obtained by this method.

  • Publication number: 20030010156
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for upgrading steel plant dust to recuperate industrially reusable compounds. Said method comprises an attrition and dilution step, a solid/liquid separating and solid washing step, an acid leaching step, and acid purification step comprising a carburizing reaction or a carburizing and decalcification reaction. Said method is characterised in that it comprises an oxidation/neutralisation step which includes a step oxidizing iron into iron oxyhydroxides and/or iron oxides and a neutralizing reaction of the reaction medium.

  • Patent number: 6500229
Abstract: A method for treating steel works dust in order to recuperate elements capable of being upgraded. The method comprises attrition in water followed by hydraulic grading of the resulting load. The method is characterized in that is further comprises: a washing step to separate the water soluble saline fractions of the insoluble oxides; hot treatment to eliminate metals in the form of free oxides such as zinc and lead; treatment by heating at a temperature ranging between 240 and 800° C.; treatment with sulphuric acid having a concentration between 5 and 8%.
