Abstract: In a method for providing redundancy for calls, a calling subscriber generates a first call to a called receiver. An originator is provided, associated to the calling subscriber, and having intelligence of creating at least one additional call associated with the first call. A terminator is provided, associated to the called subscriber, and having intelligence of recognizing the at least one additional call and referencing it to the first call.

Abstract: The present inventions relates to a method for establishing a call in a telecommunications network (100), the telecommunications network (100) comprising first and packet network sections (110, 120), a wide area packet network (130), and a TDM transit network section (140). Subscribers' terminal equipment (112, 122) is addressable by directory numbers, and calls to subscribers are always routed through the TDM transit network (140). During TDM call setup at least one message or information element is conveyed to the second packet network section, the at least one message or information element being indicative of the first terminal equipment's packet capabilities and/or an address of a first controlling device (116, 114A) controlling the call in the first packet network section (110). In the second packet network section (120), said message or information element is received at a second controlling device (126, 124A) controlling the call in the second packet network section (120).

Abstract: A method and system are provided for converging time division multiplexing (TDM) communication networks and packet based networks. Signaling may be monitored between TDM network elements by a Convergence Resource Manager (CRM) to identify calls that may be re-directed over a packet network to an end node with another associated CRM; the re-directed call bypassing much of the TDM network. Installation of a CRPd typically does not require any configuration changes to the TDM network such as point codes. A self learning CRM may also be provided so that a routing database may be automatically built. An originating SS7 message may be modified by a self learning CRM to add a Tag which identifies the originating node. As the modified message traverses the SS7 network, any other self learning CRMS in the network report to the originating self learning CRM that the message has been seen.

Abstract: Certain exemplary embodiments comprise a method that can comprise, responsive to a request from a second telecommunications device for a first call between the second telecommunications device and a first telecommunications device, determining one or more signals adapted to cause a second call to be set-up between a virtual subscriber and the second telecommunications device. Abstract: A method for backing up data stored on a mobile customer premises equipment comprising the steps of formatting the data at the mobile customer premises equipment into fields, transmitting the data with a user ID from the mobile customer premises equipment across a mobile network to a server. The server stores the data for retrieval, retrieves the data from the server in response to one of an expiration of time and request from the mobile customer premises equipment; and transmits the data to the mobile customer premises equipment.

Abstract: A multi-media documenter and methods for documenting a communication session among participants is provided so that manual entry of information is minimized. Session information including multi-media information may be captured automatically from participants, when available, through the use of templates. Information may be automatically captured from profiles at communication devices or entered by users. In this way, a record may be captured for communications sessions such as a telephonic call that documents the particulars associated with the session such as participants' names, date, a transcription of the conversation, pictures, video, animation, text and the like.

Abstract: In a communication network, every subscriber has among all the calls he originates one or more call groups he frequently calls. To avoid repetitive call processing, the network allows for a more efficient call processing using the routing information of a previous call to the same subscriber. This allows a network element such as a switch to use existing routing information for the next same call instead of determining the routing information each time anew. The network and a method implemented therein identify the one or more call groups, store the routing information for these call groups, and use the stored routing information for the next same-call establishment.
