    Abstract: A method of making a drilling motor for use in a wellbore includes defining a profile for an inner surface of a stator; configuring at least one cutting element on a support to at least partially form the profile; translating the support through a bore of the stator such that the at least one cutting element engages the inner surface of the stator; and forming a helical passage using the at least one cutting element by causing relative rotation between the stator and the support.
