  • Publication number: 20240140789
Abstract: The present invention relate to a system for producing hydrogen from ammonia, the system comprising: a membrane reactor comprising membranes for selectively permeating hydrogen; adsorption columns for adsorbing ammonia; and a heat integration system configured to: supply heat to the inlet of the membrane reactor, recover heat from the outlet of the membrane reactor, and regenerate the absorption columns via the recovered heat.

  • Publication number: 20230321593
Abstract: The invention relates to a coupling device for a tube having a Palladium-based membrane deposited thereon, for use in separation and purification of hydrogen in a hydrogen separator or reactor. The coupling device has an inlet for gas and configured to couple said tube to the inlet; a body part with a cylindrical opening for receiving the tube and for receiving gas flow to the inlet; a nut, the body part and the nut being configured such that the nut can be screwed onto the body part at the opening; a stack of at least two sealing rings. The body part, the nut and sealing rings are configured such that the tube extends through an axial end portion of the nut, the sealing rings into the opening such that, in use, the sealing rings are compressed axially as a result of screwing the nut onto the body part so that the sealing rings sealingly engage the tube.

  • Publication number: 20220347632
Abstract: It is provided a water-saturated carbon molecular sieve membrane obtainable by a) providing a hydrophilic carbon molecular sieve membrane (CMSM) comprising pores of a pore size from 0.25 nm to 0.55 nm for molecular sieving, pores of a pore size from 0.55 nm to 0.90 nm for adsorption diffusion and a negligible amount of pores larger than 0.90 nm such that a plot of N2 permeance versus pressure of permeation at room temperature and at a pressure from 1 to 4 bar has zero or negative slope; and b) humidifying the membrane until obtaining a water-saturated carbon molecular sieve membrane. It is also provided a process for the separation of a gas from a gas mixture with such a water-saturated membrane, and its use for solvent dehydration, and as a membrane reactor.

  • Publication number: 20210339190
Abstract: A method for low hydrogen content separation from a natural gas mixture includes the following steps: a) providing a stream having hydrogen; b) transferring the stream having hydrogen of a) as an inlet stream to a first membrane unit for obtaining a retentate and a permeate, wherein the molar fraction of hydrogen in the permeate is higher that the molar fraction of hydrogen in the retentate, c) transferring the retentate to an electrochemical hydrogen compressor (EHC) for further hydrogen separation and purification.

  • Patent number: 8932547
Abstract: The invention relates to a so-called zero emission ‘AST-CNR/ITM system’ modular plant for removal of pollutants from flue gases produced by industrial processes. The plant comprises prefabricated modular elements with programmed and automatic operation, easy to mount and assemble on site without undergoing expensive plant stoppage. Each module or ‘reaction tower’ comprises a plurality of sections vertically arranged on top of one another, which carry out the following functions: Removal of particulate matter with treatment and removal of chemical pollutants, such as heavy metals, chlorides, fluorides Treatment and removal of SOx Treatment and removal of NOx Capture of CO2 Production of hydrogen Production of methanol. The various sections may be combined according to the requirements of the plant and of the flue gases to be treated.
