  • Patent number: 8028583
Abstract: A method for detecting squeaking noises within a sound signal generated during operation of a motor vehicle or during operation of a component thereof is described; in this method the sound signal is detected; an amplitude spectrum of the sound signal representing the amplitude distribution in a frequency range is generated at a minimum of two points in time and the existence of a squeaking noise is detected by analysis of the at least two amplitude spectra.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 7, 2006
Date of Patent: October 4, 2011
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Fawzi Attia, Michael Fischer, Winfried Keiper, Thomas Zoeller, Uwe Bretz, Mats Karlsson, Uwe Martin, Michael Raquet
  • Publication number: 20090296945
Abstract: A method for evaluating the annoyance of squeaking noise within an audible signal generated during operation of a motor vehicle or one of its components. The existence of at least one squeaking noise is detected, this at least one squeaking noise being evaluated with regard to at least two predetermined characteristics, and a variable characterizing the annoyance of this at least one squeaking noise being determined from the at least two evaluations of this at least one squeaking noise.
    Type: Application
