  • Publication number: 20090060413
Abstract: An anti-intrusion device for fences or the like, comprising at least one, preferably two or more cables (3), each one composed of at least one or a bundle of optical fibres (103) and of an outer protection sheath (203), which optical fibre cables (3) are subtended in a substantially longitudinal direction of a section or a perimeter to be protected and are supported or holded each one at a different height at a plurality of supporting points spaced apart arranged and wherein, at least at some of said supporting points, first means (8, 9) deforming and/or blocking each optical fibre cable (3) are provided, which first deforming and/or blocking means (8, 9) may be moved from a rest position in which they do not interfere with the optical fibre cable (3) to an active position deforming and/or blocking the optical fibre cable (3) in which an optical signal transmitted through the optical fibre cable (3) is attenuated under a predetermined threshold value or it is anyway modified, and which first deforming and/or

  • Patent number: 4721131
Abstract: A control device for valves and the like, including at least one control switch (13) which is inserted in at least one optical conductor (18,118), and is connected to the valve actuating means in such a manner that it will be automatically actuated (i.e. opened or closed) upon the actuation (i.e. opening or closing) of the valve, thus interrupting the respective conductor (18,118) or re-establishing its continuity. The conductor (18,118) is comprised in a warning and/or control circuit, and the opening or the closing of said switch (13) generates a signal which may be utilized, for example, to detect and/or to record the actuation of the valve and/or to activate a television inspection system. The control switch (13) is formed by a connector for optical fibre and comprises two complementary and co-axial connector members (14,15) one of which (14) is stationary and the other of which (15) is movable axially and is urged towards one of its end positions (i.e.

  • Patent number: 4676485
Abstract: This invention relates to an intrusion warning wire fence secured to spaced supporting poles. The fence comprises one or more electrical and/or optical conductors, preferably optical fibers, which may be either (1) incorporated within one or more tubular wires of said wire fence and/or (2) associated exteriorly with one or more wires of said fence, and/or (3) arranged freely in the fence, and which are connected to an intrusion warning system capable of emitting a warning and/or alarm signal in case of breakage or reduction of the conduction capability of at least one of said conductors. According to the invention, in order to prevent anyone from stepping over or scaling the fence, the fence is extended upwards beyond the upper ends of the supporting poles. This and this upper unsupported portion of the fence will be either distorted (bent, flexed) and/or broken, at least locally, if anyone tries to scale the fence.
