Abstract: The invention concerns a method for switching a client terminal (1) from an idle mode (6) to an active mode (4), wherein a provider (3) sends a stream (5) through a network (2) to said client terminal, an activation flag being inserted in the stream (5) by the provider (3) according to the stream, and upon sending of the flagged stream (5) through the network (2), said network verifying for the mode of the client (1) terminal and, if it is in idle mode, the terminal (1) being switched (7) by the network (2) in active mode (4) depending on the activation flag.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for wireless transmission of a single packet flow from a network element. The method comprises establishing a first logical connection to a first wireless terminal for transmission of said single packet flow, determining at least one traffic parameter, establishing at least a second logical connection to the wireless terminal depending on said traffic parameter, for transmission of said single packet flow and transmitting the single packet flow using at least one of the first and second logical connections to the wireless terminal.

Abstract: For improving data flow during a handover it is proposed to send downstream traffic (6a,b,c,d) from a switching center (2) over at least two paths over base stations (3a, 3b) to a mobile terminal (4) by checking for a change of the base station (3a, 3b) serving the mobile terminal (4), upon detection of a base station change, adding the new base station (3b) associated to the mobile terminal (4) by way of a different path to a forwarding information database of the switching center (2), and forwarding as many downstream frames (6b, 6d) to the mobile terminal (4) as are according entries in the forwarding information database.
