    Abstract: An impact tool includes a housing, a rotating hammer arranged in the housing and rotatable by a motor, and a rotating anvil arranged in the housing and rotatable by the hammer by a series of impacts. An output shaft has a proximal end fixed to the anvil and a distal end protruding from the housing and ending with a fitting element for removable connection with an external mechanical adapter. A sensor unit includes a rotational torque sensor for detecting a torque of the shaft. The torque sensor includes at least one extensometric transducer fixed to an outer surface of a cylindrical portion of the distal end adjacent to the fitting element to detect a deformation signal that is proportional to a deformation of the outer surface when the shaft is rotated and indicative of the torque.
