  • Patent number: 5110272
Abstract: The valve unit includes a valve plate fitted to a head end of the cylinder of the compressor and having a valve-controlled intake part and an exhaust port surrounded by an annular seat formed in an opposite face of the plate from that which faces the cylinder, an exhaust valve reed associated with the seat, and a limit device fixed to the plate for limiting the travel of the exhaust reed. The exhaust reed includes a base portion which is restrained on the plate, an obturating head portion spaced from the base portion and cooperating with the seat, and an elongate portion connected the base and head portions. The connecting portion is "L"-shaped in plan with the head portion situated at the end of the leg of the "L" and the base portion situated at the end of the foot of the "L". The foot of the "L" is free to bend with the leg of the "L".

  • Patent number: 4793775
Abstract: An intake pipe (58) termimates at and is sealed to the outside of the casing of the unit. The outlet of this pipe into the casing is an orifice in the wall (120) of the casing. The intake opening of the motor-compressor is provided with a connector duct in the form of a separator-silencer body (56) which has an inlet aperture (86) facing the outlet orifice (124) of the intake pipe and which carries a suction cup (62) in the form of a cup of material that is resiliently deformable in an axial sense. The bottom of the suction cup (62) communicates with the interior of the intake duct (56) while the edge of the suction cup is pressed into resilient engagement with the inner surface of the wall (120) of the casing around the outlet orifice (124).

  • Patent number: 4708168
Abstract: A valved body for a hermetic motor-compressor for refrigerant fluids, such as a shaft support for a rotary-ring compressor, is constituted by a metal part comprising a wall, such as a flange, which adjoins a compression chamber for the fluid and has a fluid discharge port controlled by an automatic discharge valve.

  • Patent number: 4549859
Abstract: A suspension system for hermetic motor-compressors in which a motor-compressor unit is located in a casing formed by two superimposed cup-shaped bodies connected together in a frontal mating position. The motor-compressor unit has at least three radial support arms, each with an aperture at its free end which is oriented in an axial direction relative to the casing. Tubular support brackets are fixed to the side wall of that cup-shaped body acting as the lower portion of the casing in positions corresponding to the free ends of the said arms, each of the brackets carrying within it a bush of plastics material with a cavity which is aligned axially with the aperture of the overlying support arm. The bushes house resilient suspension elements, each of which is lodged at its upper end in the aperture of one of the support arms.

  • Patent number: 4518326
Abstract: The motor compressor comprises a hermetic casing in which are mounted a reciprocating compressor and a reversible electric motor having a common vertical shaft with an axial duct for conveying lubricating oil from a centrifugal pump located at the lower end of the shaft to an outlet located at its upper end. The outlet of the axial duct is constituted by an elbow tube which is fixed to the upper end of the shaft and has an inclined end portion extending upwardly and radially outwardly with respect to the axis of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4493226
Abstract: The crankshaft is of the type comprising, in succession in its longitudinal direction, a crank pin intended to receive a connecting rod big end, an eccentric of flattened sector shape, and an elongate tubular part, non-coaxial with respect to the crank pin and acting partly as a journal and partly as a support for a rotary member, such as a rotor of an electric motor. The crank pin and the eccentric are made in a single metal piece and the elongate tubular part is constituted by a separate tubular metal piece. The face of the eccentric which is turned towards the tubular piece and the corresponding end of this piece have respective annular formations engaged and retained one in the other by means of welding or glueing.

  • Patent number: 4407168
Abstract: The crankshaft of a crank mechanism has a projecting crank pin which is connected to an eye at the big-end of a connecting rod. An eye at the little-end of the connecting rod is connected to a gudgeon pin attached to the piston, being slidable axially of the gudgeon pin and being kept centered relative to the piston by resilient means. The eye at the big-end of the connecting rod is defined by a bush which is rotatably connected with the crank pin and has a pair of diametrically-opposing pins. The end of the connecting rod associated with the big-end is fork-shaped, and the arms of the fork are each articulated to one of the pins about a pivot axis which is perpendicular to both the axis of the crank pin and the longitudinal axis of the connecting rod.
