  • Patent number: 9577688
Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) receiver that includes a low noise amplifier (LNA), a tunable resonant circuit, and a processor for performing calibration of the RF receiver. The processor is configured to sweep the tunable resonant circuit through a dynamic range of resonant frequency settings while estimating noise signal output power at the LNA at each setting. The processor is also configured to set the tunable resonant circuit to the setting that produces the greatest noise signal power output at the LNA.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 24, 2015
Date of Patent: February 21, 2017
    Assignee: QUALCOMM TECHNOLOGIES INTERNATIONAL, LTD.
Inventors: Fedor Danilenko, Noshir Dubash, Jeffrey Koeller

  • Publication number: 20120169537
Abstract: Through use of the method and circuits disclosed herein, connection and disconnection of positioning system antenna to a positioning system enabled mobile device is automatically detected. Upon detection of a connection or disconnection of the active positioning antenna, a low noise amplifier is disabled (or enabled) and the gain of the receive chain is readjusted.
