Patent number: 10885621Abstract: An inspection system and method to detect the presence or absence of ophthalmic lenses in a plastic shell just before the seal is applied comprising a high resolution imaging device suitably integrated with an optical module; a UV illumination module suitably mounted below the ophthalmic lens holder; a Visible LED based Top lighting module suitably mounted on Top of the Ophthalmic lens holder; the inspection system which captures images of the lens immersed in a saline solution in a the plastic shell; analyzing the image and determining the characteristics of the lens perimeter and the optical center; making a decision to reject the inspected item if the analyzed image indicates the presence of a flipped, multiple and folded lens or the absence of the lens; making a decision to accept the inspected item, if the analyzed image indicates the presence of a single lens positioned in the correct orientation.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2018Date of Patent: January 5, 2021Assignee: EMAGE VISION PTE. LTD.Inventors: Bee Chuan Tan, Chern Fei Chua

Patent number: 10718717Abstract: An inspection system to inspect the consistency and thermal seal quality of blister packages, the system comprising an illumination module and a color imaging device suitably integrated with an optical module. The blister packages that are thermally sealed are sequentially presented to the color imaging device within its Field of View whereupon the inspection captures multiple images of the illuminated top side of the sealed blister package using the said image pickup devise. The images then undergo analysis to determine the gray scale values of the sealing area. By comparing the gray level values with predetermined gray level values that are programmed at setup, a decision is made to reject the inspected item if the analyzed gray level values is not substantially the same as the predetermined gray level values, or to accept the inspected item if the analyzed gray level values is substantially the same as the predetermined gray level values or rejecting the blister if determined otherwise.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2016Date of Patent: July 21, 2020Assignee: EMAGE VISION PTE. LTD.Inventors: Sergey Smorgon, Bee Chuan Tan, Chern Fei Chua, Ya'akob Bin Mohamed

Patent number: 8922489Abstract: Text input may be identified from a combination of key stroke information and handwriting gesture information. In one example, a touch screen displays an on-screen keyboard. A user then draws a character on the keyboard over the key that represents the character. In this way, two types of information are provided that identify the character that the user intended to enter: the particular drawing gesture that the user provided, and the location on the keyboard at which the user drew that gesture. These two pieces of information may be used, in combination, to determine which character the user intended to enter, and may help to interpret the input accurately in the case where either the gesture or key information, individually, would have been ambiguous.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2011Date of Patent: December 30, 2014Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventor: Fei Chua

Patent number: 8533792Abstract: E-mail based user authentication is described herein. A user can access resources of a service provider by submitting only an e-mail address to which the user has access. The service provider generates an authentication ticket corresponding to the user's login request, and transmits the authentication ticket to the e-mail service provider indicated by the submitted e-mail address. The e-mail service provider processes the authentication ticket, and enables either approval or denial of the authentication ticket, whether by explicit user action or by automated processing.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2011Date of Patent: September 10, 2013Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventor: Fei Chua
