Patent number: 12243426Abstract: A warning system is provided for alerting a VRU of a predicted collision. The system includes one or more input devices for transmitting first and second input signals for associated first and second vehicles. The system further includes a UWB beacon communicating with a UWB tag of a VRU notification device carried by the VRU. A location of the UWB tag is trackable via a third input signal. The system further includes a computer having one or more processors and a non-transitory computer readable medium. The processor is programmed to determine the location of the VRU and further determine the predicted collision between the second vehicle and the VRU. The processor is further programmed to generate a notification actuation signal associated with the VRU at a tracked location. The VRU notification device notifies the VRU that the second vehicle is headed toward the predicted collision site in the crosswalk.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2023Date of Patent: March 4, 2025Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Mohammad Naserian, Jie Zhu, Feiyu Cong, Jinzhu Chen, An Xu

Publication number: 20250046136Abstract: A method of controlling a reservation at a charging station for a vehicle includes a controller in communication with a remote advisory unit. The method includes positioning a ground lock at the charging slot, the ground lock being controllable through a station command unit. The method includes generating an identification number through the remote advisory unit and transmitting the identification number to the controller and the station command unit. The identification number is randomly generated. The ground lock is moved to a blocking position when an estimated time of arrival of the vehicle is less than a first threshold. The method includes broadcasting a message to the station command unit with the identification number, via the controller, when the estimated time of arrival is less than a second threshold. The ground lock is moved to a non-blocking position when an authentication process is completed.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2023Publication date: February 6, 2025Applicant: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: An Xu, Huan Lu, Feiyu Cong, Jieping Wang, Lingjin Zhuang, Xuekai Zhuang

Patent number: 12118889Abstract: A warning system is provided for alerting a Vulnerable Road User (VRU) of a predicted collision. The system includes one or more input devices for transmitting a first input signal associated with a first vehicle positioned in a first lane, a second input signal associated with a second vehicle positioned in a second lane, and a third input signal associated with the VRU located on a crosswalk that extends across the first and second lanes. The system further includes a computer having a processor and a non-transitory computer readable medium. The processor is programmed to determine the predicted collision between the second vehicle and the VRU at a predicted collision site. The processor is further programmed to generate an actuation signal. One or more roadway notification devices notify the VRU that the second vehicle is positioned in the second lane and headed toward the predicted collision site in the crosswalk.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2022Date of Patent: October 15, 2024Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Mohammad Naserian, An Xu, Feiyu Cong, Jie Zhu
