    Abstract: A process is described for producing a pharmaceutical product comprising a polyhydroxyphenyl chromanone obtainable from seeds of Silybum marianum which comprises forming a solution comprising said polyhydroxyphenyl chromanone and polyvinylpyrrolidone of molecular weight in the range from 3,000 to 40,000 in a solvent comprising water and a water-soluble organic solvent, the weight ratio of polyvinylpyrrolidone to polyhydroxyphenyl chromanone being from 0.5:1 to 4:1, and lyophilising said solution. Products may be so produced possessing excellent stability and which may be readily solubilised in aqueous media.
