Abstract: Systems and methods for interactive front-end graph analysis are provided herein. According to one embodiment, a front-end application receives, from a compiler, first meta-information for a particular graph analysis procedure, where the first meta-information identifies a set of input parameters for passing graph information to the particular graph analysis procedure. The front-end application registers, using the first meta-information, the particular graph analysis procedure as an available command. The front-end application also receives second meta-information that identifies, for each respective graph object of a set of one or more graph objects, a respective set of graph characteristics. In response to receiving a request to apply the particular graph analysis procedure to the set of one or more graph objects, the front-end application enforces a set of one or more constraints based on the first meta-information and the second meta-information.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention generally include an alarm system and method of using an alarm system to reliably provide an alarm to a user at a desired time or at the occurrence of some desired action. In some embodiments, the apparatus and methods include a media output device that can receive information about an alarm event and then automatically provide an alarm prompt at the time when the alarm event is to occur. In one configuration, a media output device is configured to communicate and synchronize with a portable electronic device, so that a reliable and coordinated delivery of an alarm prompt can be obtained by these devices. Some aspects of the invention may include an apparatus, method and/or computing device software application configured to more easily setup and reliably deliver the alarm signal information to the user using one or more media output devices that are used in combination with an input device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of analysis comprising the preparation and the analysis of a sample in a flexible container without direct handling of the sample and without reopening the flexible container at the end of the preparation of the sample, and also to a container and a kit that enable the implementation of this method.

Abstract: In a method for processing a fibre compound structure, an unhardened fibre layer is arranged on a surface section of the fibre compound structure. A pressure cushion is arranged above the surface section. The pressure cushion has a pressure cap and a pressure-tight cap mat pressure-tightly connected to a circumferential border of the pressure cap such that the cap mat limits a pressure area together with the pressure cap. An overpressure in the pressure area is generated. The pressure cushion is pressed onto the fibre compound structure such that the overpressure presses the cap mat against the fibre layer while supporting the fibre compound structure on a side of the fibre compound structure that is opposed to the surface section.

The second portion is inclined at a first angle relative to the first portion. The third portion extends from the second portion. The third portion is inclined at a second angle relative to the second portion. The fourth portion extends from the third portion. The fourth portion is inclined at a third angle relative to the third portion. The fourth portion has a curved tip portion.

Abstract: Surgical instruments and their methods of use are disclosed. In some embodiments, the surgical instrument may include a handle and an elongated shaft assembly extending distally from the handle. The surgical instrument may also include a fastener deployment system for deploying fasteners from the elongated shaft assembly including a reciprocating driveshaft disposed within the elongated shaft assembly. The driveshaft may include an internal channel and at least one guide surface shaped and arranged to maintain an orientation of at least one fastener in the channel of the driveshaft. In other embodiments, the fastener deployment system may include a follower disposed within the elongated shaft assembly for displacing one or more fasteners within the elongated shaft assembly towards a distal fastener deployment position.

The balance drum includes a rotor rotationally fixedly connected to the shaft, the rotor having a high and low pressure sides, a stator stationary with respect to the housing, a relief passage extending between the rotor and the stator from the high pressure side up to the low pressure side of the rotor, a return passage connecting the low pressure side of the rotor to the inlet. An intermediate passage opens into the relief passage between the high pressure side and the low pressure side of the rotor. A blocking member is configured to influence the flow through the intermediate passage.

The case includes a molded fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) material that includes a polymer material and elongated fibers that adhere to the polymer material and that have a property that varies over a length of the fibers along an elongation axis of the fibers, wherein an adhesion strength between the fibers and the polymer is determined at least in part by a property of the fibers that varies over a length of the fibers along the elongation axis.

When installed to the strand, the wedges may form a clearance fit maintained by the wedge ring. At least one wedge may include a guide adapted to assist with the separation of the wedges when installed to the strand.

Abstract: Methods of preventing and/or treating ischemia, organ dysfunction and/or organ failure, including multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS), and necrosis and apoptosis associated with organ dysfunction/failure, are provided. For instance, the methods involve contacting organ(s) with an oxygenated cholesterol sulfate (OCS), e.g. 5-cholesten-3,25-diol, 3-sulfate (25HC3S). The organ(s) may be in vivo (e.g. in a patient that is treated with the OCS) or ex vivo (e.g. an organ that has been harvested from a donor and is to be transplanted).

Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine, a transmission, a clutch, and a controller. The clutch is configured to couple the engine and transmission during engine starts. The controller is programmed to alter an engine start torque apply schedule for the clutch such that the actual engine start time is less than the upper threshold time for a next engine start event. The controller may be further programmed to, in response to the actual engine start time being less than a lower threshold time for the engine start event, alter the engine start torque apply schedule for the clutch such the actual engine start time is greater than the lower threshold time for a next engine start event.

Abstract: Liquid abrasive cleanser compositions sprayable through conventional manual trigger sprayers comprise a polyalkylene glycol, a nonionic surfactant, a pH adjusting agent, an abrasive, and water, wherein sprayability is made possible by the addition of the polyalkylene glycol. The compositions that are sprayable and acceptable as hard surface cleaners comprise polyethylene glycol as the polyalkylene glycol. The addition of polyethylene glycol having molecular weight of from about 4,000 to about 1,000,000 dramatically increases the sprayer output volume of liquid abrasive compositions having greater than or equal to 10 wt. % calcium carbonate. Addition of polyethylene glycol of molecular weight of from about 4,000 to about 100,000 converts otherwise non-sprayable liquid abrasive compositions into reliably sprayable compositions.
